Good. Hopefully he can find his game in the minors. I still think has the toolbox to be a succesful depth player in this league, but he has been invisible this year.

Not really surprising.
While there are always teams that have injuries and need to fill holes, most players that are getting waived by one team are not a clear improvement on who another team is currently playing.

I kind of thought a Chicago or San Jose might take him just to get a guy that *should* be able to play in the NHL every night with another year on his contract to help hit the floor.

Good. Hasn’t been effective this year but there’s always a chance he can return to form. Going down the Wranglers and getting to play consistently will obviously help a lot.
The extra year on his contract was probably the deal breaker.
