Tippett just wasn’t cracking the lineup at the time. Maybe torts was the coach he needed all along. Good for him, I’m glad he is finding success. The same thing happened with Lawson Crouse. He played much better in Arizona than he ever did in Florida. The only regret we should have is how much we gave up for chiarot since he was almost useless for us. At least giroux was almost ppg until the playoffs.

It would be really nice to still have him this season. Having an extra 30 goal scorer at only 1.5m is something that can set you over the edge in the playoffs
Philadelphia at the time of the Giroux trade was actually pushing hard to get Denisenko with the 1st instead of Tippett and we obviously lost him for nothing. It’s one of Zito’s extremely rare mistakes
However, I don’t think Tippett would’ve become this dynamic offensively if he stayed. He would have never got the ice time and development he got with the Flyers over the last season and a half. Torts is also a great coach for prospects and Maurice is known as a veterans coach
