Some dipshit tried to say it’s worse than Bally. Impossible they have Bally. ESPN+ is luxury Bally. That’s not a compliment, but a slight to both apps. Be grateful for what you have!

ESPN+ is ok, blackouts are bad

I don’t have a problem with ESPN +, I watch a team that isn’t remotely close to where I live so it’s the only way I can watch most of the games, the various and exclusive other apps that broadcast games are a problem for everyone but like everything else in life money is thing that is coveted most so it’s not going to stop, it’ll most likely just get worse

Me who has my local RSN and ESPN+ so the only games blacked out are NHL Network games.

3 day blackout.
Don’t keep game replays longer than 3 days.
Neat.

It might not be great but it is the cheapest way for me to see a lot of hockey games.

Anyone that thinks ESPN isn’t the fucking worst, simply never got to experience the vastly superior option that was the original NHL app. 100% of games on 1 app. National and local blacked out games posted 24 hours after they aired on TV, with the commercials edited out. Commercials edited out of all games if you watched them the following day. Playback on the following day was in perfect full HD and had zero buffering. You could turn on hide results and watch any game you wanted to spoiler free. All the games archived for the entire season to rewatch. Not to mention all the normal stats and highlight features that ESPN couldn’t give a fuck about. And it was fucking cheaper.
And that’s just simple app features we should have never lost… The quality of ESPN streams are like I’ve gone back in time to 2010. Hockey as a sport literally deserves better than what ESPN is willing to offer. The quality of every single one of ESPN’s streams is laughable but hockey in particular suffers more than any other sport from bad coverage because of it being faster paced and the puck being so small. ESPN doesn’t even have 100% of the streaming rights, you need HBO too now. And by the way watch one game in HBO and you’ll know how bad ESPN is, night and day stream quality.
We all deserve better, and had it. If we don’t vocally call out how bad ESPN is we will never get back the glory days of superior hockey watching.
