Philipp Kurashev seemed to have been a little to aggressive at trying to get the puck. The only reason I can think of is that he and the rest of his team are tired of loosing. Getting a 5-minute major which ends up giving the other team a goal, didn't help them.
Penalty on erik johnson for turning at last second. That was his fault.

99% of these boarding calls are due to dummies doing that cutesy last second pivot. Who teaches that??
I think Kurashev commits for the shoulder check right before Johnson turns his back – it wasn't intentional, and not a dirty play, but it's still a penalty and Kurashev needs to be more aware in these situations.

Shouldn't have been a penalty AT ALL. When you pivot like that knowing a forechecker is coming at you…that is on you. This was an absolute joke of a call and to make it a 5 minute major was stupid. Where was Kurashev supposed to go or do once the cut back was made? The officiating this year has been some of the worst in memory.

Just to further illustrate Johnson's doing this to draw the call. He has weak side support if he continues through behind the net (#71). Turning he has another Blackhawk (Raddysh) right in his face. He had to have at LEAST seen that. He still chooses to turn that way. Why?
