I was happy with getting younger and cheaper with the possibility of a bounce back season from him. I didn’t think he needed to be as good or better was necessary for the trade to be successful.

I don’t remember if I posted on Reddit about the trade, but I did defend it and point out ES points and how the difference was fewer than 10 over the last 3 years.

The people that were dunking on the trade were just doing so based on the names. Not to mention the market for trades was so terrible last summer that Reilly Smith was given away for free.
