Toronto’s Conor Timmins has been fined $2,864.58, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for cross-checking Seattle’s Brandon Tanev.

I didn’t expect anything, yet somehow I am still disappointed in this outcome.
That same feet-first into the boards situation has ruined seasons and careers more than once in the past.
Timmins makes $1.1M a year. $2,865.58 is nothing. That’s the equivalent of $130 to someone making $50,000 a year.
Why does he only get fined but Yanni gets suspended for two games? Is there a difference or is it all interpretation?
The fine is nowhere near high enough considering the current state of our team and the danger of this specific hit. We’d have a couple-game suspension if we did something in that realm. Oh wait, we already did.
Seattle really should consider being a Canadian team
