If McDavid went the next 300 games without a point and decided to retire, he would still retire as a PPG player

I’m a Sens fan, but I find this stat insane, and he’s only 27.

  1. Best way to see if it happens is to put him on a line with Mattias Janmark!

  2. He’s absolutely insane. I missed seeing 99 and 66 in their primes but I have to image that McDavid is the modern day version of what they were doing back then

GM when Mcdavid is entering his 4th season after 3 scoreless seasons

“lets give him another shot… it is McDavid”

Gretzky can go 16 seasons without a point and still be PPG. For perspective

1000 points before turning 30 is insane

  6. I mean I think it’s all but guaranteed he will be top 5 all time in scoring and most likely top 3. Crazy that Gretsky is just that unreachable.

It’s so crazy how many cups he has too

Just because I’m a sucker for competition, who is the active leader in this metric after McD?

If Gretzky was still playing and played 50 games a season, but never got a point, he’d still be a point per game player.

    Important to consider:
He already has 44 more points than Eric Lindros had in his entire career. He’s 80 away from Paul Kariya.

The insane part is how young he is when he hits all these milestones, and he would have hit them sooner if not for Covid and only playing half of his rookie season.

Curious where people think he is in the best player of all time conversation? (No greatest career per se but pure hockey player). I’d say he is #4 behind 99, 66 and Ovie

I mean what’s even more impressive is literally him and MacKinnon drafted a year apart are almost neck and neck, kids an animal, when they both retire it’s going to be interesting to see what their end career results will be.
