[Mark Lazerus] Lukas Reichel’s daring and confidence has been taken over by passiveness and timidity. And Luke Richardson and the Blackhawks are running out of ways to light a fire under him.

Yeah it seems like he’s rapidly running out of time to demonstrate that he can improve. Probably needs to at least go down to Rockford for a little while.

It sounds like Trade bait. Hopefully, we get some good players and draft picks from him

Package him and 1 of the 20 lhd for a decent young forward already. Go get Ridley Greig or even Turcotte, something better than Joey Anderson or Rem Pitlick

  4. I was really hoping he would’ve been like Turbo, but we’ll be lucky if he even becomes a Dickinson. Oof.

  5. He’s not getting traded unless something completely wows Davidson. They’re going to bank on it being a sophomore slump but he HAS to have a killer offseason. Idk if it’s a mental thing or what but next season could very well make or break his tenure year.

If the plan isn’t to compete for the next 2 years and they aren’t going to add names in free agency, then it makes no sense to trade him now unless you’re absolutely blown away by a package offer. Get through this season and see what you can do to right the ship in the offseason.

The kid should be back down in Rockford. Give him some development time. This is like Nylander, keep forcing him at the NHL level game isn’t working.

  8. He needs some time as a star player in Rockford. Him and Colton Dach could rock that league.

  9. He needs to go to Rockford. They can’t give up on him yet but he looks absolutely awful in the NHL right now. Doesn’t matter who the linemates have been. It’s on him

  10. I don’t know how he hasn’t been sent back to Rockford already.

I’ve been pulling for Reichel all season long, as have most of us Hawks fans. He showed some progression last season and seemed to be doing well especially towards the end of the season.

It can’t be as simple as “he was playing with AA and now he isn’t” because we all know AA isn’t some kind of magic player who makes others around him great suddenly.

He’s not progressing at the NHL level right now and needs to go back to playing top line minutes for Rockford.

We can be patient with him, can’t we?

  11. i remember reichels first goal in the nhl and seeing kane smiling listening to his speech in the locker room. it looked like the torch was gonna be passed onto him…ugh…
