  1. DismalChance

I’m getting really fucking tired of Mika complaining to the refs instead of actually fucking playing and trying.

  2. I feel like this team needs someone shouting at them. Something with that helmet throw energy. Everything is so monotone, and it shows on the ice a lot. Just want some passion here.

  3. Can anyone tell me what Mika and Kreider have done this year that is good? Because I can’t think of anything. They can’t score 5 on 5, they can’t score on the pp, they can’t win face offs, they don’t play defense. We’re not going anywhere with them and Trouba making ridiculous money and sleep walking through the season.

  4. I’m sorry but I’m so sick of the “it’s just a slump” crowd. Are you watching the same games as the rest of us?

  5. XxMLGSWAGGERZxX

i was there, currently crying in the car

  6. just a piss poor road trip man. lost to a completely depleted vegas team that is now 14-16 in their last 30 games. lost to a kings team that was 1-11 in their last 12. were one blown offsides call away from pissing the game against the ducks away. and blow a 2-0 lead to lose to the worst team in the nhl.

losing happens, rough road trips happen, but these are the types of losses that make you shake your head. at some point lav also deserves some criticism. deploying that 4th line in crucial moments is inexcusable. last game the team showed some life when he juggled the lines around a bit, even came back to win the game, and as soon as they did, he reverted right back to what hasn’t worked for over a month now. 0 adjustments.

  7. InternationalHunt738

There is no accountability on the team. No benching …no missing shifts. No sitting out a period for your bad play. Laviolette is a horrible coach. He can’t make adjustments. Just keeps tossing out PP1 for the entire power play even though they have no real shot at scoring. Players like Miller keep turning over the puck for costly goals against and he doesn’t miss a shift. Gus did it tonight. No one is being held accountable.

Kakko Lafreniere are drawing tons of penalties…ahhh let’s not reward those who are actually trying and let’s just keep the status quo. It is the epitome of a recycled coach. Play the Vets no matter what because in the end those players will win out.

I tired of it. I am happy I am making money betting against them but I want them to win. This core is cooked. Laviolette wasn’t the right hire and we are going to miss the playoffs. You can remind on this comment come april but I am sure no one will because most know I am right. At this point you fire Laviolette and just bring in a guy that will make them skate the whole practice. No systems …no video …just make them do laps…or touches. At least on some level they will have earn their paychecks.

The team has checked out. Something has happened in that locker room and there is nothing left to be said. Fire Laviolette and hope a new voice can change the chemistry.

  8. njerejeje

This team either needs Chytil back OR to use his LTIR cap space at the deadline to add depth. I won’t go full doomer until I see what the final version of this team looks like. But for the 15 games until then, there are 2 things we can do that will provide huge upgrades and they’re not even difficult

    – Play Pitlick over Bonino. Laviolette cost us a point tonight with his inexplicable devotion to Bonino

(I really cannot emphasize how much better the team will be with this swap alone. Instead of having 1 great line, 1 good defensive line, and 2 bad lines, we will have 1 great line, 2 good defensive lines, and only 1 bad line who can get limited minutes. That’s how bad Vesey-Goodrow-Bonino is)

    – Swap Laf and Zibanejad on PP1. I can’t remember the last time Zibanejad has actually made a play on PP1, and Laf is making plays left and right even if he isn’t finishing which will be less of an issue on PP1 where he can be more of a playmaker

  9. rushy1911

I don’t understand why or how Cuylle ended up with less than 10 min of ice time and Bonino ended up with 13, nearly as much as Kakko. like that is so much self-inflicted damage on performance for no reason at all. Cuylle is actually good, fast, and hits so much while Bonino is slow. ugh

  10. Compulsive_Bater

I really want to love Laffy but jesus that kid has beer league level finishing skills.

Unless we pick up Gretzky, Mess, and Jagr at the deadline we are going to get embarrassed in the playoffs again.

  11. Crimson3312

I don’t know what you guys expect the All Star break to do that Christmas didn’t. Something’s gotta give but I didn’t see anybody stepping up. Trouba isn’t leading, Lavvy might as well not even be behind the bench most nights. I’m not giving up, but I am severely tempering my expectations.

  12. DropGearToDissapear

Guys let’s push for Vince Mercogliano to ask Lavvy why he keeps Mika and Kreider together when every stat shows that they need to be separated. I’ve been saying it for weeks but it seems like a few others are saying it now too.

  13. iamwilliamwit

In 5 games since returning, Kakko has 1 SOG (the one he scored on).

Among RWs who’ve played at least the same number of games he has (91 total), he’s 89th in points, 85th in shots, and 65th in S%. If you sort by average ice time, he’s being outscored by every single RW with LESS ice time except for one: Givani Smith.

  14. Key-Tip-7521

when you go 0/3 on the pp, when you take the foot off the gas, when a dman like gus sets up a shark player for a goal, when you ARE TOO FUCKING GUN SHY TO SHOOT THE DAMN PUCK, COMPLAIN ABOUT A PICK AND ROLL PLAY INSTEAD OF PLAYING W/O YOUR STICK, AND LOSE TO HIM! THE LIZARD COACH, A LOSER, THE OAKLAND A’S OF FUCKING HOCKEY(the sharks are actually better than the A’s) ONE MORE LOSS! ONE MORE LOSS THAT COULD HAVE BEEN A WIN! YOU CALL YOURSELF PROFESSIONALS?! Besides TROCHECK, IGOR, AND CUYLLE, AND MAYBE LINDGREN? GEEZ. THE 8 PEOPLE THERE AT THE GAME GIVE THEM THEIR MONEY BACK!!!!

YOU KNOW WHAT THAT LIZARD LOSER ASS FACE DQ IS SAYING RIGHT NOW, “can you believe we beat these guys? can you believe we actually beat these fucking guys?” FORTY SIX AND SEVENTY THREE!!! IT’S LIKE LOSING TO A BASEBALL TEAM THAT PITCHED THEIR STARTER THREE INNINGS!!!!!

OH THIS GAME, Can’t blame Key. maybe in OT you could blame him, but he looked better. Not great but better. Igor looked good. Hung out to dry as usual. Cuylle threw the body around. Laf is snake bitten. he HAS TO WORK ON THAT DURING THE BYE WEEK IF HE AND THE TEAMS WANTS TO FUCKING SUCCEED.

RANT FUCKING OVER. Everyone get to bed. Yeah they got a point. But it feels like they should get a negative point for the debacle…. Oh, before I Forget, STOP TALKING ABOUT GETTING OLD VETS WHEN THIS TEAM HAS NO DAMN FUCKING ROOM FOR ONE.

Damn it. Off two days, back at it on Friday. Onto the Knights.

  15. Bauerblade

I mean, wow. Really thought that great 3rd period in Anaheim would give them fuel here, and then that just happened.

Idk, i dont wanna doom & gloom here, but man that was just….man

  16. ItsHeadbangerG

Turning these post game interviews off I have zero interest in hearing this teams fucking excuses. Can’t win against *the worst* team in the league languishing in the goddamn dungeons. A sharks team coming off a back to back where they traveled. Un-fucking-real. I felt so good about this team before the new year and now I firmly believe they get tossed first round, if not collapse altogether and miss the playoffs. And before you say the D word, just let me fucking vent please, this team is playing so far below their talent threshold that they’ll be hittin’ magma soon.

I’m gonna go listen to angry music. See you Friday.

  17. Hopefully this is rock bottom and they have a nice long flight home to have a come-to-Jesus about it.

  18. Powerplays should be switched up:

PP1: QB:Fox, Top of circles: Laf and Bread, Bumper: Tro, Netfront: Cuylle

PP2:QB:Miller/Gus, Top of Circles: Mika and Kakko, Bumper: Brodz (Chytil when healthy), Netfront: Kreider

Mika and kreider have both shown they can’t do much 5on5 and even where they are supposed to be great in on the Powerplay they’ve been bad, and not just because they don’t score, their passes aren’t good, they’re turning it over etc. put laf and cuylle there those are the only two forwards with bread and tro that deserve pp1 time.

Split the powerplays 50/50 maybe 60/40 but we also gotta stop this minute and 40 seconds then change when they ice it so pp2 gets about 15 seconds of powerplay time.

  19. leeradjones

“They just wanted it more” should never be said by anyone on a professional competitive team ever! That loss was straight up embarrassing. If they don’t see this as the watershed moment to turn it around – I’m just not gonna watch and I’m def not gonna scrape together what little money I got to go see these guys!!

  20. New forward lines

    Bread Tro Laf

    Cuylle Zbad Kakko

    Kreider Brodz Wheeler

    Vesey Goodrow Pitlick

    🤷‍♂️

  21. BernieManhanders23

Everybody is so goddamn unstable and sensitive here. Take a bad slip in the 3rd and move on. Ya’ll were psyched at the ducks comeback and ready to catapult the team tonight. It’s immature.

  22. Alchemiist7

It is genuinely so hard to see this team that literally is bursting to the seams with talent just fall over.

Had to step away after the game to compose myself before writing rational thoughts, but I think Mika needs to wake up. Bench him, make him skate at practice, do whatever you gotta do. He is asleep at the wheel and has been for a while.

Igor and Quick are fine, they are inconsistent yes, but they give everything they have every single game, and I don’t see the same happening for Kreider, Mika, or Kakko.

I can’t be pissed at Laffy, he at least generates some form of a threat. The 3rd line is decently fine (Cuylle and at times Wheeler) but Bonino is actively killing that 4th line.

Vesey and Goody would 100% benefit from Pitlick being a mainstay there, and my God I would KILL to have Adam Edstrom back.

This stings. Hope we can bounce back because I don’t know how much this team has left in the tank.

  23. WhyNotGoatMan

just letting everyone know we could’ve promoted knoblauch but instead chose lav, hes now on a 14 game winning streak with the oilers and has turned their entire season around

  24. I think Bread should shave everyone’s heads and take their technology away. Only then will we compete to our full potential as a team.

  25. Rare_Recover8234

For only $200 you can see this garbage product live at the garden on Friday.

  26. idk if im totally off base here but i feel like every time the trouba/miller pairing is on the ice the only defensive thing they do is block shots

  27. amusing_a_musing

I’ve felt there’s been a significant change take place over the past few weeks. To start the season the team was supporting each other, providing outlets, moving with pace and making plays with purpose. Now it’s a lot more standing around and regrouping in the defensive zone and everyone is reaching as opposed to skating towards pucks.

Laf, Trocheck, Panarin, and Cuylle are the only few that are actually skating the puck and making plays. Everyone else is letting it come to them instead of taking it to them.

Long story short we need a Dubinsky, Callahanc, etc. I actually was lamenting to myself that we haven’t seen as much of the physical Trouba these past few weeks and he should be more engaged and try to fire up the team at times.

Honestly I remember thinking when we were down to Anaheim that we’d come back and win and in tonight’s games when we were just playing hot potato with the luck on the power play in the second period I was convinced we would lose this game. We had chances to drive the nail home, go up 3-0, extinguish their hope but we stopped playing smart

Hopefully team gets it together against Vegas and Sens so they can go into break on a high note

  28. marshall513

I hope someone sees this and can answer me but are coach’s challenges not allowed in OT for non calls? How the fuck do they not challenge that for the missed interference call??

  29. ShouniAishaKuma

Really not a fan of Lavy deflecting blame away from the players in the postgame presser. Hold the guys accountable, don’t just blame the ref non calls.

  30. 3 hours of driving. 100+ bucks. Was it worth it? Honestly I’m both pissed but also a little comforted to know what these rangers are really about. It’s gonna make the first round exit less painful.

So much blame and this isn’t to leave anyone off the hook…but my thoughts from 5 rows back tonight? Zibanejad.

Mika is playing such an awful brand of hockey. He does not deserve to put on our cherished, hundred year old seal every game. It’s embarrassing to watch him and think “that is our number one center”.

  31. Vaeltaja82

Maybe this is the rock bottom and now there is only one way to go?

  32. ThorsImba69

If you want to know what’s rotten with this team, you don’t have to look any further than the “1st” line. Krieder and Mika, our vets that are supposed to be leading by example, embody laziness and entitlement. Krieder our “net-front specialist” won’t fight for position around the net. He never uses his speed, and he’s next to worthless along the boards, peeling off as soon as he’s challenged. Sure he’ll pick up garbage that happens to bounce onto his stick, but beyond the bare minimum effort, you can’t rely on him. He’s taken months off in past years, and it doesn’t seem like that’s changing any time soon.

Zib is completely mentally out of it. He used to reliable on the backcheck, but he’s just gliding now. He’s weaving *into* defenders and forcing passes. Go back and watch the third, his head was so far out of the game at one point, he jumped when the puck hit his stick in the high slot. Sure the egregious picks in OT should be called, but he didn’t fight through it. I could even have understood if he went after the player, but no, he just stopped and whined. It’s just another example where if things aren’t going the way he wants it, he’s not going to put in the effort.

When you understand that our top players don’t want to work for their wins, it makes sense why the rest of the team is following suit. Unfortunately the only star player truly busting his ass out there is a Russian that barely speaks English, and doesn’t even own a smart phone. Not really the greatest potential mentor for our younger guys.

Krieder showed last year that he can’t be embarrassed into playing better when he was demoted to the 3rd line and continued to half-ass it. Hopefully something like that at least gets through to Mika, because with their NMCs I don’t know how you fix the team before one or both of them is gone.

  33. ZanderFreeman

The non calls are so far from relevant in this match. 2-0 against the worst team in the NHL. And we blow it. We are a mess, something needs to give. There are players that we can expect to be shit or average or eventually do something other players it is simply inexcusable. The brain snaps of Zibanejad tonight and Kreider with his stupid penatly yesterday is typical of of players that aren’t simply good enough to take a team forward.

Im sick and tired of Laf and his excuses. He has had two golden chances in two nights to bury games and he has fluffed it. You don’t need confidence to score an open net. Enough with Miller and Shesterkin, although shesty was probably our best…if they are not mentally capable of playing, sit them out.

Im sick of this team and its pretenders. A slump doesnt last 2 and a half months, these matches and mistakes they are making are not part of a slump. We’re just fucking shit.

I dont even know what the answer is.

  34. SilentSaidd

This team needs a reset and a lineup injection badly. The All-Star break is hopefully what fixes this team. 9 days off and a good chance Chytil returns in that 1st game back, at the least he’ll be with the team. They just look mentally uninvested in every game. They need the mental reset. Nothing has changed from the begining of the season except the teams mentality. They have the pieces to win and be very good but it’s just not there right now.
