  1. “I heard there is nothing better in this league than beating us, for some teams this is their Stanley Cup” is how I would have phrased what he said.

I really do wonder sometimes how our roster would do if it was in arizona lol. Teams have always had extra gears for us.

  3. Except against the teams where the Leafs drop a level, I guess

I hope this kid gets rewarded with steady production for how much he busts his ass on the top line.

I really don’t get why this fanbase gets so butthurt over teams trying their best against us. Don’t we want to be an elite team that can take on any team in the league at its best? Or are we happy beating teams only if they don’t put up their best against us?

Other than San Jose, what teams do the Leafs get up to play?

I have said this so many times. The leafs get everyone else’s best effort every game no matter the stakes. It’s a job at the end of the day for these guys so lots of dudes phone it in everyone once in a while but never against the leafs when the spotlight is on them. There is more to lose when it comes to playing the leafs than 99% of the rest of the league.

Not to say the leafs and every other team shouldn’t be putting their best foot forward every game but reality is that won’t happen 100% of games.

Nothing better than beating the leafs right boys ?

People always talk about this… yeah, teams want to best us. It’s still our responsibility to win. It’s not more or less fair, that’s sports. Either you’re good enough to beat teams at their best, or not. Simple as that.

You can complain about the cap, refs and teams “playing up” to us… but it’s still our responsibility to win.

“and I think that makes us raise a level”

    fucking LOL yer kiddin’

  11. Yea but how sustainable is it to raise it 82 times a year? Plus another level in the playoffs after that? If we were a physical heavy forechecking team, a lot of these guys wouldn’t last the whole season.

Oh Knies. You’re new here so you probably don’t know about the leafs historically playing down to everyone.

I’d hate to see most of them at their normal level.

Our boys seem clueless how ridiculous this sounds…

So true, especially playing in Toronto on a Saturday night on HNIC. Especially fir Canadian born players, even moreso if they are from Ontario.
