Happy Wednesday guys and welcome in here to wager talk TV this is Pock time for January 24th I’m Andrew I have Carmine and pre with me we have the red hot Winnipeg Jets looking to get back on track after a loss to the Bruins as they face the Toronto Maple EA the hurricanes

And Bruins go head to-head and the LA Kings will try and get rolling as they host the buffal Sabers in Los Angeles Carmine we’ll go to you first for your thoughts on the first game here the Jets and Maple Leafs what do you have for us well first of all I appreciate you

Not saying how was your night last night uh Carmine it was not a good one but uh we’ll get back on that uh uh on that horse tonight Andrew and Winnipeg and Toronto this is the first of a back-to-back between these two they’ll play again in Winnipeg on Saturday so um

A couple a couple of our Andrew a couple of our approaches are in play here uh we seem to always or at least I want to take the team that loses the loses the first one in the second game and then you you like to look at the total being

Reversed in the second game you look at the total here and it it opened up for like a brief moment at uh six and a half and then uh got I think it went to six and it stayed at six and I don’t see it moving off of six Winnipeg 245 and six

To the under this season uh plus 110 it it’s it’s when you look at this line and you’re wondering why are the Leafs only like minus 130 at home it’s because they’re playing the Winnipeg Jets and the Winnipeg Jets are playing extremely well one of the few games today that the

Goalies are already confirmed samonov going for the Leafs and he came off a good performance and I thought he would have one against the Seattle Kraken and the leaves played a good 200 foot game uh in that one they back checked they played extremely well uh after that loss

That six4 loss to Vancouver they really stepped it up against the Kraken uh in Seattle so that was a good win for the Leafs they return home two and two off that road trip and you just look at this and I just think this is a good by low

Spot on the Leafs normally you look to fade a team uh in their first back off a road trip but this is a Toronto team that needs wins at the moment and uh and we’re getting a good price on them here minus 130 the opener was

125 uh it’s wasat in goal for Winnipeg halabu uh will be in goal for the Saturday one and you look at Winnipeg they struggled a bit against Ottawa winning 21 in OT and then the Bruins just showed their superiority in that one uh beating them getting out to an

Early lead in that first period and then winning that game four to one it stays under the total uh as well in that one despite having I think three goals in the first period it’s it’s got to be samsonov in the leaf for me if he can follow up that performance especially

With what is going on right now we’re seeing Martin Jones of the Leafs starting to tail off he was never a guy who could uh at this point I think in his career who should be shouldering such a huge workload they’re gonna need samsonov and maybe that time off uh for

Samsonov uh maybe made his head right uh and we’ll see tonight um who better than to talk about the Leafs and to get us back on track than uh the pre welcome PR Carmine biano what a pleasure to uh be on the show with you and Andrew Carmine

Came over to watch the Bulls game on Sunday night at my house I don’t think he had a good time I’m just saying for the record it was loud there were a lot of kids uh and then the bill lost and I looked up and K was at home already um

With all the kids there and they eat together with his iPad and the game on so we’re not missing any of the game I’ll give them credit because there are people that would just be like well your well you’ll eat when your food comes I’m gonna eat mine now because it’s uh it’s

Warm so um fantastic host I appreciate it being over there uh I feel bad about taking his chips uh the night earlier uh or the day earlier when we played poker together but uh with that said uh give us your thoughts on this Leafs game PR

Yeah Karm I’ll give you my chips anytime bro so look I think you I think you uh I think you nailed it I do think the Leafs are low in the marketplace more importantly I think Winnipeg is high in the marketplace and you know conceptually before we get into this

Game I would like to say that I’m looking to fade Winnipeg moving forward that doesn’t mean I will because the lines have to be right but this is a team that I don’t believe will duplicate their record uh 30 and 11 and four they’re not going 301 and4 again in

Their next I have to add that up 45 games uh so I’m looking to fade them and I’m also most importantly looking to bet them under the total this Winnipeg team is a stone cold under War six on the year uh this team defensively is exceptional Helen bucks phenomenal the

Problem is he’s not in goal tonight and they’re playing a team that I think is a stone cold over team this is a tough one from a total perspective I lean on the leaf Sierra Karm but I am also concerned about coming home on that uh on that um

You know that first game home from a road trip and especially a West Coast Road Trip yesterday we had Matthew Barnaby on wager talk today I don’t know if you guys had the opportunity to catch that he said that that first home game is a real thing that is something

That even as a player he was aware of and noticed it and he he likes Winnipeg for that reason I lean on the leaves I lean on the this is a game of two teams that play completely different styles of hockey and ultimately who dictates the pace

Wins uh that’s sort of how I see this game PR we’ve actually had on the show jump in first before Andrew goes I got a quick followup for you and this is from our chat uh you’re getting a lot of love in our chat about your Penalty Box

Segment but uh one of the guys asks and this is a good question because Andrew and I have bounced this one around a little bit does Sheldon Keefe survive the season with the Leafs if they continue to struggle he didn’t add the continue to struggle I’m adding that

One well right off the bat I don’t think he’s going anywhere until after the playoffs if they don’t make any waves in the playoffs I I think he’s gone I wish tree living would go before him I cannot believe that they hired that guy you know hubero one of the best sightings we’ve

Matthews for Rick toet uh I just there’s better coaches out there but he does have exceptional hair I’ll tell you his hair has gotten a lot grayer since he started coaching that team about press’s age so that says something and he might end up with hair like Carmine if he keeps coaching that

Team so I mean they should probably stay away from the mapine he started he started with Andrew’s hair then it became mine in a ‘ll be arms the tail of the hair such a fabulous look it’s such a fabulous look hey nobody says it’s a

With it so uh but look I like the under here I agree with k sorry go go ahead go ahead sorry I didn’t want to cut you off I like what what both you guys were saying about the the defensive attle here um the thing is pres you know describing this leaves

Team as an over team overall I think ideally they’d want to be an under team you know they have the goal scoring under team I guess we could say but I I do agree with what you said about the Jets not necessarily being kind of a fade but just their offense

Slowing down like they were winning games by them putting up the goals if they want to continue to win games they’re going to have to be really low scor scoring one thing good about them is that they have two quality goenda is going to be up for the vzna

Trophy again this year but luron brasis is good as well um and a lot of times I will say that you know the team that’s the higher seed that dictates the pace usually wins the games and that would be Winnipeg but when they played against Boston their Gap control was not good

They gave way too much space to guys like past knock and Marsha and if you do that against Matthews and Marner they’re make you pay in a very very big way but I also think that right now both teams have actually been very topheavy so if

They can shut down the top guys on both teams then they’ll struggle to create offense we’re getting a six here a lot of Gams with the Leafs involved we see six and a halfes but I’m gonna go under here guys I mean you got to stay true to

Your identity uh if you’re the Winnipeg Jets that’s who they are and uh you know you you mentioned about the back on the at home at least there’s been you know their last game was Sun night Monday and then this game’s tonight but uh still I

Do agree and and the good thing is too honestly pres they’re they got they got the Winnipeg Jets off a loss so Winnipeg won’t be happy but it’s not like they’re in their first game after a road trip really I mean Winnipeg can skate there’s no doubt about it but they’re not really

An up and down the ice type of Team they’re more of a cycle to Puck around type of team so that should hopefully benefit the under for us um can I just point where we’re betting Matthews to score yeah go ahead PR I was I was gonna

Just say really quick I mean Matthews is scoring every game right now I mean goal scoring like every second game because it’s unbelievable what he’s doing I have to give him his props it’s unbelievable what he’s doing out there yeah well he’s Austin Matthews so I that says uh hockey unders I wanted

To and I was saying this to Vivian two nights ago I bet the under a couple of nights ago in a hockey game and what occurred to me is when you bet the under in an NFL game it is an enjoyable game to watch you can the plays still

Unfold you know you’re looking for field position they start at their 20 you’re like okay couple of first downs nice running plays bunt the ball do it again totally easy to watch when you bet the under in a basketball game dribble shoot everything’s still there you just want

The ball to not go in instead of go in totally enjoyable to watch when you bet the under in a hockey game not only is it not enjoyable to watch I don’t even know how to watch the game I I don’t know what to cheer for I’m

Like uh bad pass uh Mr net like the there’s so much speed the puck Moves In and Out of offensive zones at 100 miles an hour it it’s a nightmare experience watching an under in a hockey game do you guys find the same thing it’s um I hate watching it uh and

Know it’s the same way with a soccer game I I will literally watch something else that I have action on and then I’ll check every 30 minutes or so to see if a goal has been scored and hope that I still see scoreless or what have you it

Is you know a perfect example uh of another game is the the Boston Winnipeg game that was played a few nights ago or whatever um you know I I like the under in the game it was five and a half and I talked about you shouldn’t auto click

Over on five and a Hales uh all the time especially with these two teams but I took it one step further and that was the mistake I took the first period under in that game because it was only minus 105 and they scored three goals in the

First period and the final score is four to one so the full game stays under the total but I decided I wanted to take the first period And I think Andrew took the full game under in that one uh as his lean so sometimes you get it right but

Get it wrong at the same time and I got it wrong so uh I always love to talk about getting it uh getting it wrong instead of just patting myself on the back like you see a lot of people not on show but uh you know um in the world

Do Andrew I would I would argue NBA I would argue NBA is the worst for for watching an under because when a team is hot they’re hot and it’s just like three-pointer threp pointer and one the worst watching anything like the NBA is where you can get any

Sport where you can get 20 points scored in the final minute of the game because of all the fouling and free throw shots and what have you um you’re going to end up looking having the same hairstyle as me if you’re on the under and they

Scored 20 points in the last minute um be because of that it is absolutely insane uh some NBA finishes and I don’t know how you guys do it uh I don’t even bet NBA at this point dude I um I have nothing left I kill it betting NBA I mean I I I

I made 95 units of of it last year in NBA this year I can’t stand the sport like I won’t go to a Raptor game last Raptor game I went to tip off Raptors get the ball March down the field get went wild that would be the

Equivalent of a place going wild when you like Kiss the Girl there’s a whole lot more action coming guys we don’t need to go wild on the first bloody basket up these guys put the ball inside their shirt tuck it into their pant run around the field the

Court NBA is the stupidest sport on the planet get back come on yeah well president next time you get tickets give it give the tickets to like to go the hurricanes and the Bruins 15 for the Carolina Hurricanes minus 130 135 the other way total being

Six this one is at the Garden here pre what do you have for us in this one uh Andrew I like the over in this game you know this is going to be a hard Fort game and I think there’s going to be huge stretches in this game where

There won’t be any goals and then we’ll see a quick output of goals uh both these teams have played to the overall year man uh not massively but slightly to the over what they’re not is teams that are playing to the under Boston is uh last five games four

Goals nine goals five goals three goals four goals the kan’s six or more goals three games in a row four their last five uh Kane struggle in net um there’s just too much Firepower on the ice from my perspective although I think both teams are heavy

Teams uh I think we’re going to see a higher scoring game than one might think I like the over in this sock of uh being able to uh to win if they can get him a little bit of support and he is a starting goalie tonight they can

Win here I’m gonna sit on this game for a bit watch to see if he gets confirmed and more Bruins money comes in I’m gonna take the plus money on Carolina I’m gonna take it anyways but I’m gonna wait to see if I can get better than plus

Took advantage of a Colorado team in a very poor situation they beat the Winnipeg Jets but you have a Carolina Hurricanes team five of their last six wins they’ve scored at least four goals and for Boston even in some games that they win they still give up four goals that

Montreal game is a good example um you know against teams like Arizona giving up four goals Colorado four goals Pittsburgh scored six on them uh this Boston Bruins team is certainly capable of giving up some goals even when playing on home ice so Carolina to get to the four goal Mark is Plus

170 and after a big win over the Jets guys I’m rolling the dice here and hoping we can get this team to four goals I believe if you know if you think Carolina’s gonna win I think you got to score four to beat this Boston Bruins team they’re that talented you have to

Didn’t show up early in that one and by the time they put it together it was too late they they lose on an empty night goal 4-2 in that one a lot of under Trends with these two teams you look at the Sabres 2619 and two for this team to

The under last last year they were dead over team the LA Kings 2617 and one this season to the under one of the better teams uh defensively especially in the west and uh but they didn’t show it last time out against the Sharks the Sab 0 four and one their last

Five to the over so the under is hitting there three and2 for the Kings so you know where I’m going here this the total here is six on this one Sabres are on a back-to-back they’re two and five in the second of a back-to-back average goal

Scored in that game uh 6.29 so it literally lands on this number uh I still like the under here but I think the Kings is probably the better play I just don’t want to lay the 195 uh I’m going to look the kings in regulation but I’m also going to look at

The Kings I have it up on the site as a free play the first period uh Puck line on the Kings they need a win they’re going to get a Sabers team who are a losing team in the second of backto backs and uh you lay the half a goal and

You’re getting plus 135 on your money if the Kings lead after one so that’s another way to look at it pre what are your thoughts K I’m on the under in this game uh I’m going to give this uh play out on the Penalty Box segment look both these teams are Stone

Cold unders on the year Buffalo 18 and 26 to the under yell King 16 and 27 to the under Buffalo struggling to score consistently nine goals in their last five games uh that’s less than two goals a game and they’re playing well defensively they’ve allowed seven goals

In their last four five of their last 10 games guys one goal or less lowed LA Kings seven goals in their last four games I’m not going to overthink this play I like the under I guys I think we can all agree right now the worst contract in hockey

Has to be Pierre Luke dubba there’s a bunch of bad contracts out there yeah I guess but he can he can turn it you’re right I guess yeah I I I guess say but plld plld is at least willing to go to the net and goals will

Come but yeah look he’s on a he’s he’s on a contract no doubt about it a terrible maneuver especially with who he trade who he was traded for I mean you know the the Flames had no choice uh kachuck wasn’t going to play for them plld the Kings literally traded

A a player much better than him I agree terrible contract but as it stands now Johnny hubero is on the worst is the worst signing we’ve seen since Ryan Leaf was drafted I guess the difference for me is that hubero nobody could have ever expected the difference between how he

Played before and how he’s playing now PR I could have with Pier Luke dub I don’t even think he was that good in general you know what I mean like I think hubero was good on the Panthers you can’t disagree with that and all of a sudden he looks like someone took over

His body he looks like a whole new guy duah has always been the same guy he’s lazy he doesn’t fit the La King’s system I don’t know but uh I I I I am with you guys on this one um and overall actually you guys know that I’ve been betting

These team totals I’m actually uh I’m taking the under three and a half goals for the LA Kings so usually you guys hear me talking about overs on these team totals but when I look at this number here for the LA Kings when I look at this spot for them you’re going to

Hear a lot of people say this is a good bet on spot this is a spot for them to get going look the Buffalo Sabers can’t be happy they can’t be happy after what happened to them in their last game can’t be happy after last night they

Will be motivated defense will be on their mind and if you’re the LA Kings right now defense better be on your mind as well because you cannot score goals goals they can’t even score goals in a shootout that was the most embarrassing shootout I ever watched that they had

Against the San Jose Sharks so to me defense will be definitely the emphasis point for both teams but when you’re going to give me a a minus 110 for one team to not reach four goals I think is a really good number here despite getting buffalo on the backto back I

Just think this is a team that until they prove otherwise that you have to start looking towards unders on their offense they’re struggling in a very big way I would be shocked if this LA Kings team is not very active at the trade deadline usually trade deadlines are

Very boring in the National Hockey League I think this year they could be a bit more exciting we might see some more trades um especially on that Western Conference as I I think a Western Conference team wins the cup again this year guys what any disagreements I I

Think there’s no I don’t think an Eastern Conference team wins I think a West team wins and they’re very active at the trade deadline I I I don’t know I think the Habs have a shot well they have a better chance of winning two rounds than the Leafs do but

That’s for while you guys were talking while you guys were talking about uh terrible contracts uh I had to do it so here it is the worst contract ever ilot Kovalchuk 15 years $100 million with the devils uh David Clarkson seven years 36.75 million with the Leafs yeah and oh

This one was horrible vly loo the the Sabers six years $27 million and then Rick dietro 15 years 67 a half million dollar with the Islanders whatever happened to Rick dietro he just fell off to the face of the Earth K the best part about the
