Very positive turn in this season, but how could it last? Hockey gods can be very unpredictable, as a Stanley Cup contender can get beat by worst team in the league if the puck just bounces in right places. Sharks have been so unlucky and so shocked this season that it must feel good for coach David Quinn in particular to see some of his education and developing of the players work out right in the end. It has been a struggle of a season and we should expect more struggle and less class as the season wears on and injuries take out more players on roster, trades for future considerations and more prospects, draft pick swaps. More class struggle in NHL is needed so that the underpaid role players and working class players get a higher minimum salary and better disability protections or pensions. Many players don't have long careers but end up with long lasting injuries and teeth knocked out in the struggle to stay in the league. This minimum wage level is set by collective bargaining so it must be negotiated better by players.
Thank goodness hockey is so niche in the bay area otherwise we'd probably see NBC tighten the purse strings and have Britt or Ramirez doing this. 😂🤔🙏
