I was at the Canucks game last Saturday and the Leafs played so poorly in the 1st period I almost wanted to leave. Luckily, they had Sammy playing well tonight. Otherwise this game was a wash. It’s a win and we take these, but man they have to improve.
Nhl has become as boring as soccer, no goals for three periods of hockey? Bigger men much faster than yester year no room to shoot pass and a rollerderby ripe for injury? Clutch and grab? Make the ice european size? Peaple probably can't compute this with their tiny sport brains?
Sammy certainly stole this one for the Leafs. That first period was an unfair match between an NHL team and a team from ECHL. Unacceptable bumbling and bad giveaways. You shouldn't be in so much trouble when guys come after you, it's kind of expected in hockey!

Let's be honest: the Leafs didn't deserve to win the game. First period was horrendous and Samsonov bailed them out time after time.
