I think Elvis would have better numbers with the Devils, and we should trade Vitek and Palat to get him. Palat is prone to injury and I don’t think he has made that much of an impact whenever he is healthy.
I have no issues with Hamilton. He never should've been removed from PP1. I also think both Luke and Nemec are going to be great players, but 70+ point defensemen don't grow on trees. The jury is out on a goalie. For as great as Markstrom has been I am not cool with transferring over Connor Hellebuyck level assets to acquire him. If Elvis or Kähkönen can be acquired as a stop gap and then Fitz can see what options are available in the offseason.

If I'm Fitz I don't hang up if someone calls regarding Jack..he's got incredible talent but he misses half a season every year..he doesn't do us any good sitting in the trainers room 40 games a season..or give him a gym membership to bulk up so he doesn't get hurt every time someone checks him.

He's the laziest defenseman in the league making the most money on the team. People hate his lack of defensive effort as they should. And they aren't making a trade when we have nothing valuable to trade.
Bro what you mean? This fan base loves a good slapper so much we put up with sub average D just to watch him hit clutch snipes. I love Dougie but we know who Dougie is. He's a good blue line holding Offensive D man.
So no Fitz shouldn't sell the farm for a goalie but it's not like Adin Hill was some established stud when Vegas traded for him. Literally anyone would be an upgrade on Vitek at this point, so even if we just sell small like a 3rd round pick or cheaper there has to be some backup/3rd string out there.
Now if Fitz could get a goalie out of Boston I'd say it's harvest time at the farm, Swayman is an RFA this summer and has stated he didn't like hearing what Boston said about him during arbitration. Ullmark is 30 and has this year and next at $5m. I'd rather get Swayman of the two but would be ecstatic to get either.
As for Dougie, I'm with you the slander is insane. They're complaining that a sports car doesn't have good towing capabilities.
I think we should ride Daws and Schmid in net. I think we could use help on defense to help the situation. I think if we go after a number 1 goalie I think it would cost too much at the moment. We have a good core at the moment and would like to see it stay intact.
He gets my respect once he starts to actually give a flying shit about defence! He is more than capable to be at least an average defender.
I'd be fine with trading Bratt. Dude is a great player, but I don't think he has the same value in the playoffs. So maybe Bratt, Nemec and Bastian for a top class goalie.
Giving up motor mike for Markstrom to me..isn't an option. Trading a heart and soul player. No Way!

If you like him for his offence, put him at forward! But oh… wait… he doesn’t skate or even try hard… ever, so he would never fit into our system at that position. He plays DEFENCE! It’s the name of his position for god sake! He never finishes checks, EVER! He never puts any effort into back checking when he’s stripped of the puck, which is about 3 times a game. He just seems LAZY. I’m guessing that’s why he’s on a team for 3 years and then management is fine to just let him walk. No work ethic.

We will only complete for a cup if we escape hamiltons contract and spend that fortune on grit and defense. We could get 2 incredible players for that ridiculous amount of money. Yes, he scores goals but if you research, he actually concedes more so his net product is garbage.

Our whole team is trash defensively, I don’t know how people don’t understand this. Your can’t just stack offensive guys on the back end, the result is what we have now, a horrible defensive team that leaves their goalies out to dry
Hamilton is disrespected? I missed that, As for the goalie situation I think the market for goalies is pretty thin and the asking cost will be to high.Keep the current goalie tandem with Daws and Vtech. I think the Devils should stand pat on that for now and bolster the defense instead. Good defense would reduce the number of shots on our goalies. They shouldn't make a deal just to make a deal when none of these goalie targets are a sure thing.
Dougie is hated because he sucks at defense period. Bad blue liners are a plague and cost games. He is huge and not at all tough. He hits no one. I told you this trey when we met at American whiskey.
