Very skeptical of what the AAV is going to be on a long-term contract for a guy who has paced for at max ~50 points.
Konecny had a similar resume at a younger age and went for $5.5m

$6-6.5M deal can end up being an absolute steal. He is already a bona fide 30 goal scorer at age 24 and if he improves his shot accuracy and becomes more consistent we are talking about a sky high ceiling.
Feels like a deal that works really well for both parties.

bro I have to say in the short amount of time Danny has been killing it without amount of stuff him and the new regime has dealt with and this contract is just perfect example too. We the cap about to increase significantly, Tippett could have signed a bridge deal and cashed out if he keeps developing. The fact we got him long term on a low AAV is huge

Great news. As annoying as it is to have started getting excited about this season just to fall back into a slump – Danny is setting us up long term very well. This is going to look like a steal of a contract if it doesnāt already
He doesnāt even need to āimproveā he just needs to be close to his peak on a more consistent basis. If he figures how to do that, he could be a great support piece to the big guns this team will need to be in cup contention
