Just how much of a bummer was it to see Jack Quinn go down in that manner yeah it it U disturbing when you see a guy that guy means so much and and uh works every day competes every day and and he’s such a big part of us going us
Playing our identity and being ourselves it’s a it it was uh devastating to see him go down the way he did and at a level personal level with all you guys to know what he went through given the fact he got hurt in June and you know
Miss 30 plus games it’s it’s you know obviously the hockey side is is uh you know a tremendous negative impact when you lose a guy like that but the the emotions go to the personal side and it’s um you know he’s endured a lot already in in a very young career and um
You know so it’s a it’s a struggle um we don’t have the extent that he’s going to be out but it’s um it’s certainly not dayto day another game where you’re able to come back what did you see that allowed you get back in the game uh I thought you know we executed
The way to a game plan very well I thought in the second and third it took us a while to get to that game plan we made some mistakes in the first that um I think the guys knew obviously could self-correct they knew the mistakes they
Made they they they knew it wasn’t part of what we had laid out uh you know we were aggressive in the wrong areas of the ice specifically was was the manner and and uh you know once we got to the to to to what we felt would give us the
Best chance of winning pressuring the right areas of the ice or certain areas of the ice specifically uh I thought we settled in very well and obviously big guys Rose JJ G with a great game and uh Tucker um Tucker was pretty impressive as well um amongst others and um nice
Very nice effort how impressive was middle stat just the way he created pressure on the puck along the walls all game really yeah he he and Tucker uh you know we switch switch some lines around um hopefully to find a different uh you know move from you and I talk Mike about
Just some more directness on each line and um you know I think uh MC Greenway and and um tuck were very impressive uh two games in a row now um complimenting each other you know playing direct straight line hockey hard hockey strong at Puck and then showing skill so um
Nice job by those guys in a lot of timely saves again not a lot of saves volumized but Lucan kept you in the game when it was 2 to one it could have been 3 to one he got even he he seemed to have good timing on his stops yeah I
Mean that’s exactly what what every team in this league needs is is is you know their goal tender to keep them in games through stretches when you you don’t have it for 60 minutes in a game sorry there’s there’s Talent on the other team and uh you know you you it’s the it’s
The teams and the goener at the right moments of when you don’t have it your team doesn’t have it the other team has a surge or it’s a power player you know the goalie steps up and there’s times every game every team in the league
Needs a goalie to step up I hope he’s been very consistent for us stepping up and and allowed us to uh certainly today um he was a big part of the win even though he didn’t have to play uh you know he didn’t have a ton of action or
But he was a big big part of the win you go two- one on the trip you go seven and four in January you have this week off now and just you know what is this club in your mind what do you want to see
From them just to be ready to come back in a week and a half here just take some time off and then be ready to go again yeah we talked about it today I mean we have lots of guys exemplifies our team we want we want to be we want to be
Great we want to be better than we are and and um you know my challenge to the group was you know to be great is not a part-time job it’s not a pick your day when you want to you know compete and work hard it’s every single day um and
You know that’s been a hard push for us I think um you know a guy like JJ just a last couple games ability to just hit the repeat button on that compete level or millstead or tuck um and on and on it’s it’s bringing it every single night
And um you know that’s when you when you go through the season we’ve gone through that’s the question you have to ask yourself you know am I bringing it every single night and and am I in the moment you know does this moment matter or are
We worried about something and so for us um you know we we’ve got a long way to go but but it’s really within the context of all of all of that is is just getting the moment um and compete like hell CU you know we’ve sat here at post
Game press conferences you hear it in every coach in every sport if you don’t compete if you don’t win you’re probably tur into compete and in preparation and those are two areas that uh we’ve been a little bit better at but we just got to be consistent
