  1. WORST DECISION KNICKS EVER MADE LETTING HIM WALK…OR FAX….AWAY….fact…of course dolan would have fired him to hire isiah

  2. Actually the Heat weren't hated yet by the Knicks in '95. In fact they weren't even on the Knicks' radar yet.

  3. From what I heard the fax story went down a little different than what's said in this video.

  4. And this was the dark day that marked the very beginning of the end of the once proud Knicks franchise, which they've never recovered from since. There's no way their long, hard downfall would ever have happened had he stayed in New York I'm sure.

  5. Listening to Poppi Kramer rant on this video is definitely the reason why a lot of people have an extreme dislike for NYers. As a Knicks fan I was a bit indifferent about Pat Riley's decision. Yes, I wished he had stayed, but if his contract was truly up, he had every right to walk away and resign. Even if it was by fax. The hypocrisy is that franchises often either trade a player without them knowing or totally cut them or remove them. Then the spurned player either reads about it. Or it's mentioned on ESPN. It's often said, it's business! But we all often know that business is most often personal.

  6. Well in hind sight, I say don't blame Pat Riley. Blame James Dolan and the dysfunctional front office. Riles saw the writing on the wall, and besides, there's no way he could have gotten the Knicks past the Bulls had he stayed. In fact, he wouldn't have won until the mid 2000s.

  7. SORRY NY media pat had miami in the works while he was still coaching the knicks in 1995. he knew they werent going to give him what he wanted. another reason they being the knicks were and still are a mess. you give that man whatever he wants. you will never ever see anyone like him walk through that door again. what a shame. just think if the knicks would have given pat whatever he wanted. just think about it for a second

  8. To all knicks fans he won 3 NBA championships with the miami heat hahahahaha he never won it with the NY knicks joke of a team!!!!!!!!

  9. and Riles was pissed whe LeBron left Miami for Cleveland in 2014. What goes around comes around.

  10. Looking back, Pat Riley made a great decision and set the Miami Heat culture of the 2000s. The result:3 championships (1 as coach). During the same time and to now the Knicks continue to struggle.

  11. They say it like he was crazy he's Pat Riley for fucks sake he could ask for whatever he wants hes probably top 5 coaches all time and a top executive

  12. KNICKS YOU NEVER TREAT PEOPLE RIGHT!! Now look how many titles he won in miami . If you just gave him what you wanted who knows how long he would’ve been our coach for!!!!

  13. Legendary Pat

He was such a mercenary and obsessed with power that it clouded his judgement.

He will claw your eyes out and sell anyone down the river to get what he wants

    Continues to this day

  14. People can resign a job whenever they want. By the, you New Yorkers couldn't even give him a title!😂😂😂😂

  15. Pat Riley won 6 titles in LA and 3 titles in Miami, yet for all his skills, the Knicks were sooo pathetic that they couldn't even give him 1 NBA title! 😂😂😂😂

  16. That was a sucker move by Pat Riley but he didn't like that when LeBron decide to return to Cleveland.
