@Detroit Red Wings

This will be a HUGE mistake

Back in December it was reported that the Red Wings are considering trading Jonatan Berggren. As we get closer and closer to the trade deadline and Berggren is still not getting consistent minutes in the NHL, I fear a trade is growing increasingly more likely. 1. Berggren"s my guy his efficency is awesome, noone is going to give us what He's worth, unless he's asking to go We'd be best off keeping him.

  2. Berggren is the first forward called up when there is an injury to a forward. The surprise is how rarely that has happened so far this season.

  3. Hopefully he's been assured of a spot next year, and this trade thing is a rumor. You see a guy get drafted, see him progress in Europe and start putting up some impressive numbers, comes to AHL – All Star 2 years, 15 NHL Goals last year. The kid has done nothing but impress, it just would be wrong to trade him with him ever having made the team. And don't get me going about Edvinssen …

  4. Top NHL teams can only afford to have a limited number of one way players on the squad. Bergey needs to get stronger, play a more physical two way game if he wants to play for the Wings. I like the guy but they need more out of him.

  5. Makes no sense to have him keep playing in the AHL. He deserves a spot on the main roster. He always ends up producing when he's up

  6. I love burgers but if the wings aren’t going to make space for they should trade him he deserves to play in the NHL. This kinda of like Fabs the blues couldn’t make space for him every one knew he was good so the blues did the right thing and traded him somewhere to get consistent playing time. Maybe we should send him to the blues as a thank you for Fabs.

  7. How can you say it's a mistake when you don't know the return? Yzerman hasn't been perfect, but he doesn't routinely get burned in trades. Either way, just because some guy says he's going to get traded, doesn't mean the dude gets traded.

  8. If you’re dumb enough to CONSIDER trading him, you don’t deserve him. He needed to have a permanent roster spot last season game 1.

  9. Every draft year that Ken Holland worked for the Red Wings Yzerman also participated in while in Tampa. It has become pretty apparent that 80 to 90 percent of the players that Holland drafted Yzerman did not draft and would not have drafted. It certainly appears that Berggren is one of those players. There is pretty much no point in talking about it. If Yzerman doesn't like him for whatever reason he will be gone. We are powerless in these situations. If Yzerman has never really cared for this player for whatever reason he has, then this player will be gone. It seems as if Yzerman is keeping him out of the NHL just for the reason of keeping him from becoming a fan favorite. Trading prospects is much easier than trading fan favorites.

  10. The Penguins have a problem of refusing to give minutes and opportunity to AHL call-ups that play well. I've been saying Drew O'Connor has potential for a whole year now and he's finally getting top six minutes when we have no other option

  11. I don’t miss Bertuzzi much but Hroenck was really good with the Wings and is killing it with the Jets. Johnny Bergers needs to stay with the Wings system, he’s too good to lose

  12. He is good enough to be in the NHL. If we aren't going to play him in the NHL, it's only fair to him to trade him to somewhere where he can play. I think he should have made the team out training camp and the only reason that he didn't was because he didn't have to clear waivers. Stevie signed to many free agents.

  13. 0% chance he is traded. He will be in the lineup when anyone in the top 9 was injured. Gives Yzerman more leverage for new contracts / other trades to have depth like this. Berggren probably pissed though, haha.

  14. Relax. They are keeping him in the ahl for the full season to let him shine and gain confidence. Having a breakout season in the ahl will only boost the kid. They are keeping him comfortable and allowing him to grow

  15. berggren and a 2nd and a 3rd for cbj david jiricek(probably spelled his name wrong) possibly a 1st and a second instead of a third both are frustrated and probably want out of their current teams

  16. Stevie is smart as hell and whatever he does is alright with me. I like Johnny, but if it happens, SY knows what he is doing…
    Questioning Mr Yzerman, at this point, is a fools errand. But, you do you. Hahaha
