Is this the Canucks telling Pettersson they want him to stay by paying big for another high level Swede? Cause this looks like a complete win for the Flames.
I mean, they must have discussed Lindholm signing an extension because this is an awful lot for a few months rental.

I don’t know if this is a fleece. Lindholm could revert back to an elite ppg two way centre and has a great chance of lifting a Stanley cup in Vancouver. We got a guy with serious potential but also suffering through an even more terrible year, a defender that looks like a 2nd pairing/pp 1 guy and a first rounder that might be 32nd overall.
It’s a good trade for both teams today. In a few years maybe it leans one way or the other.

Rooney looked way better than the year before in training camp before he got hurt, hopefully he can be a decent 4th line centre.

Not sure how this could be considered a fleece. Kuzmenko has been garbage… a cap dump, essentially. 1st round pick and Hunter B are nice adds but really the rest is a crap shoot. Unless youve got Bruce Boudreau behind the bench, you’re not going to get anything out of Kuz… so it’s basically a 1st and a prospect for Lindholm. Canucks fans like this trade quite a bit… although we all would have preferred guentzel
