Trade petey if he wants 12mill or more. We can get back an impact player back, picks and blue chip prospects in return. I dont believe in pushing so many chips into one player.
I wonder if the Canucks try and get some draft capital back tho in the offseason. No first and second and potentially no third. I still absolutely love this trade tho Lindholm is going be such a great pickup
I would have rather they got a Top 4 shutdown defenseman, but in terms of the player, aside from the fact that he's on the decline defensively, I like him. He's an excellent 2 way centre who can take face-offs. The price was ridiculously high, and if you don't think so, I have a Time Machine and you can go manage the Colorado Rockies. I hear they're looking to trade a pick that became Guy Lafleur. It's one thing to trade a 1st round pick when you're close, but this is becoming a pattern for the Canucks and until I see actual playoff results, this is just another trade for a good player that might or might not pan out. If Lindholm wants to cash in like Miller did and they top out in the 2nd round, this trade was a loss. But I hope I'm wrong.
I appreciate management making moves in the 1st half of the season, rather than waiting to the very deadline when they’re desperate. Also gives more time for coaches to adjust the new players to the system and for the player to gel with new linemates
Jim is right that canucks dont need to resign all the ufa with the canucks farm being solid. That being said i think they should at least make an effort to extend lindholm and bluegar
At the end of the day, this core is the best they got and the chances that those pieces help this core in the next 5 years is not high. It was more of a cost I wanted going in but one I am not going to complain about, this is a move for a team that believes in their core that are coming to age.
That's why they overpaid a little bit. They traded for Lindholm over a month before the deadline. There's time now to reasses if the team needs another piece or more and who exactly should they target.
You know, Money aside, I've always wondered how Jim Rutherford managed to get a wife 30+ years younger than he is.. After Jim being in charge of this Franchise for just over 2 years I think finally understand why.. He must have one of those big old swinging dicks! Every room that dude walks in he just gets shit done! Respect 💯

what a show today boys… best in the business 🏆
Canucks finally make my evil laugh come out. Pure happiness
I love how John R is calm collective & connecting w fans worldwide nicely after a rough silent start. 😉
Funny that rick doesn't call Jim Rutherford " Jimmy " when he talks to him 😂😂
I can't wait to see what Elias Lindhersson can do, exciting times boys
Podkolzin is a similar player to kuzmenko. We basically got rid of kuzy’s salary next year and got lindholm for a first round pick. Simple as that.
Lettermakki and mikhevey for chychrun
I love this team 💙💚
Overpaid.
I love how JR is so objective and not into the love me look
Nice work Jim, keep it up

Awesome interview
The talking heads sure want the Nucks to trade Zadorov.., For no apparent benefit!

Stop trading high draft picks!
Next trade deadline Rutherford scoops Crosby and his expiring contract.
Boeser, Miller, Suter.
Mikhayev, Petey, Lindholm
Joshua, Blueger, Garland
Hogs, Aman, Lafferty.
Hell of a forward group right there.
Now were free of Myers and Luzy next year that $$ jas to go to Pety and Hronek..

I’m excited
