    **Kulak trade**

Calgary got 2 ahlers which they don’t have anymore and got nothing for

Montreal traded him for a 2nd round pick and drafted Hutson

    **Toffoli trade**

The flames traded Toffoli for Sharangovic and a 3rd

The habs Got Heineman, a conditional 4th and drafted Mesar and Volokhin with the other picks.

    **Monahan trade**

The flames gave Monahan to the habs with a 2025 conditional 1st, the habs then traded Monahan for a 2024 1st and a conditional 3rd.

    The one stat that matters:

    Calgary, 49 GP, 49 points

    Montreal, 49 GP, 48 points

Draft picks are like lottery tickets. Every once in while, you hit it big, but for the most part, you get tiny payouts or no payout at all.

Look at Calgary’s draft history from 2000 to 2010. It’s the stuff of nightmares! (Backlund excluded, of course)

Yeah, Treliving managed his assets poorly. That’s part of the reason the Flames have to rebuild. Conroy seems to be doing a better job in that regard so far.

Credit to the Habs for getting terrific value in their deals, but then again, they still picked Slafkovsky 1st overall so, eh, they still need all the help they can get.

    Habs fans,

    Go back to r/Habs.

If you want to shit talk or troll other fanbases, use r/Hockey. Other fanbases don’t need to deal with rival fanbases flooding their subs. We do actively enforce the no cross trolling rule and do ban people for not following it.

    r/Habs mod team.

Calgary’s round pick in 2024 is their own, only if the pick is between 20 and 32 can Montreal choose to take it, so to say that Montreal has both the 2024 and 2025 first round picks is disingenuous. They are only getting one.

Going back 12 years there was also the time we lost Cammalleri for nothing to Montreal and then gave them a 2nd round pick as part of the package to get him back.

  7. Hutson came from the Oilers pick in the Bret Kulak trade

  8. As a Hawks fan I know the feeling of a GM throwing away tons of value for pennies on the dollar.

  9. Stoned-Avocado

I don’t mind because I know the Habs will waste all those picks anyways

If your reaching that much on the Montreal side, better put in Kadri since we only got him by dumping monahans cap space
