This was a smart move..

OK Guys, we got some breaking news. The Montreal Canadiens have traded forward Sean Monahan to the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for a 2024 first round pick, and a conditional 2027 3rd round pick. What do I think of the trade? I’ll share my opinion in today’s video!

The articles that were in the video were screenshots from Habsfanatics.com, I highly reccommend you to check out this site for further Habs News,

  1. Clearly he was far too big a forward to play for the habs they like them small !😊😂😂😂

  2. Habs fan here….absolutely hate to see this guy go…wish the situation was different…we could have kept him a couple more years!

  3. I'm sad, I really liked Monahan. How the boys talked about him, he seemed like a beauty on and off the ice. BUT I have to believe that this first round pick will go somewhere, and maybe just maybe Monahan will find his way back to us eventually!

  4. Two 1st round picks a 3rd and 52 points and 74 games from Monahan for future considerations is kinda actually turning nothing into something. Also no conditions on the Jets 1st. I know you might say that dosen't matter but it kinda does. Last year around this time they were around the same spot in the standings and ended up falling out of the playoffs. Not saying its gonna happen but oh boy would it be nice.

  5. It seems like every time we get a half decent player that loves playing in Montreal, we trade him for a handful of magic beans that are supposed to turn into gold at the next draft. I'm not convinced this was a good deal at all. Half the time the first round picks tank and as far as the third round pick, it's conditional on green donkeys flying out my arse……it'll never happen.

  6. Excellent point about the salary retention slot being preserved…and with a great Harry & Lloyd joke 🙂
Putting on a bit of a Master Class yourself there Junkie!

  7. Wel what I been saying is that they will get a first round from a top team is worth no more than a second round pick.We gave away a first and second for the bum Newhook and a HABS first and second are really good picks.
Bad teams want high end prospects or high end draft picks we are th eonly bad team that went dfor other teams throw a ways in Dach and Newhook.
I remember myself included the hype over getting a free first round for taking Monahan well what do we have to show for it oh yeah we got Newhook ..lol.
Winnipeg is sitting around top 5 and could move either way a couple spots so this pick will be weak especially if we get another Mesar.
This team imo looks awful a barely compete team that is miles away from being a legit contender.I wanted and expected to see what looks like a contender within 3 years with 3 great years of draft picks and then fill in the gaps to become a contender by year 5.NOW it looks like maybe another 30 years of same old same old.

  8. Just imagine Montreal Draft Lindstrom and Létourneau with that fresh new first round pick ! Pretty sure Bergevin will be so mad to see Hughes bring 2 big center in the pipeline😂

  9. Completely understand why fans like Monahan, he's a hard worker and backs his team mates. On the business side of Hockey though, a healthy Sean Monahan is priceless to a team looking to make a run at the Stanley Cup!

  10. Had to say something about the coach Martin St.Louis , the practice shoot out demo , the guy still got it. He should be player-coach like Reggie Dunlop for the rest of the season!

  11. Good job by Hughes! 2 first round picks! Genius! I will miss this guy but he deserves a chance at a cup and I know he loves playing for the Habs! Our young guys have learned a lot from him and will improve because of it! Gonna be a lonnng test of the season lol but hey let’s get a good top 5 next year!

  12. “It’s gonna be cold in Winnipeg”

Bitch here I am complaining why it’s +5 Celsius here in Winnipeg, when it’s supposed to be -45c.

Mfing climate change is real lol

  13. Newhook is due to come back.. 10 weeks from Dec 2.. is around the week after the all Star break.. therefore he would be 2nd line and Evans on the 3rd

  14. Not happy ! Not sad either! It is what it is ! That was the only things we can do ! Now let's hope and prey we got lucky with the pick and get hidden aces. because it,s not a first line of Suziki -Caufield and Slafkovskỳ that we bring us to the 25 th stanley cup we need more than that.

  15. Lol, the conditional pick is for 2027 IF they get to the finals. That's the Jets laughing at us. That's a joke 🤣

#1, why would they retain? He's paid 1.9 and is on pace for 60 points?

#2 if they don't win the lottery, whoever they pick won't be an impact play, if ever for that matter, until 3-4 years when that player is 21-22 years old. So that's not helping this rebuild, maybe good for there second rebuild when they've got a new GM by then.

    #3 this season Monahan>Lindholm

Keep dreaming. I like your takes usually, but this is way too homer. Gotta be realistic and call it like it is, Habs got fleeced, we have a rookie GM and rookie coach 😂
