  1. McLellan wasn’t the problem, GM Rob Blake is a total failure, one bad decision after another (with PLD being the worst). FIRE ROB BLAKE NOW!

  2. the players wanted this. Todd deserves better than this. They arent even replacing him with anyone better. Are they giving up on this year. Put PLD on a proper line and then see what happens. GKG

  3. Blake is the one who should have been fired. Why did these two doofuses not state the obvious. PDL was brought in by Blake. He should wear it.

  4. I don’t know why you guys are sitting up there saying your surprised as the kings fans we’ve been wanting this for a while over the last 20 games we haven’t been playing well so I don’t know why you’re sitting there saying you’re surprised nobody is surprised as a king fan so no I’m not shocked

  5. I don’t agree with this decision. Blake and Robitaille should have been canned

  6. PLD is a coach killer. You cant fire the players but you can move them to the minors. I wonder if PLD will get claimed off waivers.

  7. For those outside blaming PLD, FYI it's the entire team not getting it done. Ok I'm not gonna lie and say PLD has met the bar, but it's not falling on only his shoulders

  8. Well this takes a lot of pressure off of the Oilers…because losing Todd sets them back 2-3 years. No more Playoff threat from LA.

  9. Pierre Luc Douce-bois is responsible. He's a cancer on the team. He was a cancer in Columbus, Winnipeg and now LA. Dude's to blame.

  10. I'm not sure why they are shocked. Have they seen this team play the last 6 weeks? I know it's an industry, so they won't bad mouth McLellan but at the end it falls on the coaches, General manager, and the whole management group. They created this team and roster.

  11. The people saying it's not Todd's fault are delusional. He coaches the team. He is accountable for it's performance. Pure and simple. Every freaking news conference "Well….we played one good period…." As a fan I was done with him already, I couldn't imagine what some of the players thought of him. Good riddance. Oh, and fire Blake too. That Petterson contract was a great reason for his firing right there. He knows nothing about talent evaluation and should be out the door as well. Now Kaliyev is on the trade block??? Maybe we can send him to Edmonton and watch him scorch our team every year. We have great ownership, we deserve better management. Fire Blake.

  12. So how does hiring an 'interim coach' help the team turn things around? Wouldn't it make sense to get a permanent coach in place ASAP?

  13. The "new coach bump" is very real, but mostly happens with an actual new coach. When you promote an assistant, generally you only get a new coach bump if the players had been really unhappy for a long time. These guys respected and really liked TMac. I doubt you'll find more than a small handful who wanted him out prior to this past week. Still, I'm excited to see what Hiller can do. If he makes fewer excuses for his veterans and has a slightly more tactical eye than Todd, it could work out.
