I’d rather see Johansen out. He’s slower than molasses and just my couch coach opinion, doesn’t hustle, bit sloppy. Only good for a face off.

We have to drop RyJo to the 4th line. Any line he centers just disappears because he’s so slow. 3rd line: Lehky, Olofsson, Parise. Give Lehky a few shifts with Mack and Mikko every game. Same with Cogs – give him some 3rd line shifts every game.
Drop Kiviranta and call up Ben Myers.
Does Ben play center? If he does we should healthy scratch RyJo. That, or give RyJo more powerplay time so he can score some goals and fool a team into trading for him.

It doesn’t address the 2C, but it’s a drastic upgrade swapping Kurtis McDermid for Zach Parise. Enormous.
In an extra ideal world we get a 2C and Johansen gets shipped out, too. And if he stays I’d legit dress Olofsson over him. He plays with hustle and Johansen is (barely) doing cardio out there.
The Avs play with a ton of speed and hustle so Johansen’s floating is extra obvious. If you can’t ship him out, scratch him.

Somehow the 2nd line right now needs to become our 3rd line post deadline and we will be a juggernaut. Getting Val back and adding a top 6 center and kovalenko coming in could make that happen. Landeskog back in the playoffs would put us over the top
