The 1 million dollar prize“cute day out with the boys skills test” turned out to be about absolute GREED. People run whole **s marathons for charity but the likes of multimillionaires like McDavid (McGreedy) just plonk that million on their bank account. The NHL all Star Games is not just boring that way, it’s utterly sad 🤮

How does LA expect to "catch some of the magic that the Oilers had" when they only manage to hire an 'interim' head coach? That just isn't good enough.
The four-country tournament is stupid. By only having those 4 countries you are missing out on so many good players. They should expand it to 6 teams and bring in Russia and Europe or bring back Team Czechoslovakia.
The big thing is the NHL needs to stop pandering to the non-hockey fans, and bring back the events that actual hockey fans like.

the nhl is part of the problem by keeping the russians out. remember the 72 summit series. get politics out of hockey. people are people, stop painting people with a red letter.
They should scrap the 3v3 tournament and bring back 5v5 East v West single regulation game. Everything else is good as it stands, skills and the other events over the weekend.
The ASG is an absolute slog.
I resent how many Canuck and Jets players were forced to attend when getting an extended rest at this point of the season might make a real difference as to how far they go in the playoffs. Do what the NFL does where it doesnt interfere with anything and the players dont give a fuck, thus they play with the effort that is warranted for such a farce
I will miss Pasta on world cup, but Czechia probably have to few players in NHL. Its a shame.
This was by far the best All star weekend in a long time. For the first time in a long time it felt like the skills competition was not about stupid gimmicks but actual skills and the 3 on 3 was solid.
There is definitely room for improvement. The addition of celeb captains was great to offset the awkwardness of the players both a the draft and on the bench for interviews. Next time they need to bring in more people like Arnett and Buble for the other teams. I would also like to them encourage players to not just stack their teams with players from their own team. The fact two teams were essentially just the leafs and canucks made things less interesting then if those players were spread across the 4 teams.
They also need at least one more event for the goalies. Whether that is a goalie sprint or trying to get pucks in the far net or something, the fact goalies only had one event to participate in at the end kinda sucked for them.
The accuracy event needs to return to scoring based on accuracy not speed. It should be about who can get the targets in the fewest shots not who can throw the most pucks at the net in the short amount of time to hit the targets. Let speed be a tie breaker but the main scoring needs to be done by accuracy.
In terms of the 3 on 3 maybe include an extra losers game or something because 3 mini games isn't enough
Finally, have every all star participate. It sucked as a Habs fan that Suzuki was not in any of the skills events.

If they want to have a good all-star event, they'd need to make it about players and players having fun. I don't think celebrities add really anything and it kinda says that the NHL players don't have the star power needed. I'd rather have fun skills competition and have different players come up with competitions and just auto include hardest shot and fastest skater. Have fans vote for teams or have fans vote for how teams are formed. Like team that is only captains of their own teams, team of biggest boys in all-start and so on. It should be about players having fun on a break from the season. When it's very formal and official, it's boring.

Good for kids and people who like to watch some weird sport event. But honestly, we just want to see some hard nosed hockey
