crazy how zetterlund has more goals than timo
It always takes time to assess a trade. Teams have scouts and analytic departments for a reason. Grier properly focused not just on the Sharks' short term roster, but also the AHL roster. There is quite a bit of money coming off the books this season: Labanc, Hoffman, Duclair, Simek, Barabanov, Zadina and Kahkonen. Some will probably get extensions, but I'd wager that most will not. I was hoping Barabanov, Duclair, Hoffman and Labanc performed better to either bring back prospects and/or picks, but that is not the case.

J.D. what do you do with Couture & Hertl? If the team takes 3 to 4 years to get back into cup contention, your looking at Hertl 33/34 & Couture 36/37. Hertl has stated he would talk with Grier at season's end about his future on a rebuilding team. Do you trade them now if the right deal appears & they agree to move?
I don’t see how we could have resigned timo with our cap space. So what we got was better than him walking.
Erik Karlsson is now Pittsburgh's problem. The Sharks needed to get picks and get rid of older player contracts. The Sharks get 2-3 first round picks in 2024. They should have a half dozen very good young players in 1 to 2 years.
