How does the out of the box goal keep happening? I learned in Pee Wees that at 5 seconds left in the penalty, a D-man backs out of the O-zone to cover the emerging player. This is unacceptable at the NHL level.

Honestly, I'm not a fan of those videos. I mean i like a good highlight video as much as the next guy. However, once someone gets traded their allegiance is to a different team. They are now the enemy. Don't show me how good he was on my team, that's in the past. Wait til he retires then show the video.
Imo I'm all for it. I feel that way about almost any positive gesture towards a player. I'd assume he appreciated it & any family/friends watching thought it was a cool moment. It's a tribute. There's no awards, trophies, or placement on a HoF ballot at stake. It's not a 1000 game type ceremony, just a simple video on the jumbotron & a shout-out. Am I wrong 🤷?
You can never show former players too much love and respect. Look at how the Islanders treat Tavares. I'd rather be too nice and kind to our formers than treat them like garbage for shining elsewhere.
