83 shot attempts and like 4 xG? Generate better chances. Stop pumping unscreened perimeter shots and pretending that they’re the same thing as slot shots or getting the goalie moving laterally.
Nothing epitomizes the game more than the last sequence the sabres got, a pass from right to left circles, dahlin (who has had multiple high danger scoring chances tonight) gets an unscreened shot on the goalie moving from his left to right. Dahlin shoots it right into that big D on the goalies chest…
Yes we had shots. Yes Oettenger played very well. We also gave up an ungodly number of odd man rushes and had multiple scramble drills around our own net. Objectively we were unlucky not to score at least 2 goals but lucky we only let in 2.
