    Too bad for Matt Poitras. Speedy recovery. He's gotten a taste of the nhl, knows what he needs to learn, knows his learning curve, and now knows he needs to put on some body armor – another 20 pounds! He'll be okay.

    Coyle -We just discovered not too long ago, 21 – 22 season Charlie had a bum knee

    22 – 23 season he had surgery

    About a month ago, he revealed that this past summer was the first time he's been able to do serious off-season training in a few years

    Patrice bergeron was seen at the Boston rink, sparking rumors he might be coming back.

    He said he was there to pick up hockey sticks.

    I would bet Patrice has done skills coaching with coyle and possibly Zacha on their faceoffs.

    Cuz if you watch Charlie coyle in his face off this season? His shoulder is down, his butt is out more – he looks a lot like Patrice.

    I always liked Charlie – knew he was going to explode once he became 1C

    I think since Justin Trudeau had a fall out with Bettman over the Vegas and kraken expansions, they're going after the NHL in canada.

    that boy child "self-proclaimed feminist" was seriously pissed off when he did not get one of those expansions.

    It was the first time a world leader has directly negotiated with a professional sports league.

    And Gary bettman snubbed The boy child prime minister.

    Re: Tavares's taxes… The treaty I think you're talking about is between the US and Canada. (Tavares is Canadian, and doesn't seem to have immediate American family, but spent all that time in New York. I'm assuming he obtained citizenship at some point while there, otherwise the treaty just wouldn't matter for him.) I think the question in this case probably isn't whether all athletes' signing bonuses are taxable at the higher rate or the lower one. It's much more likely to be whether the treaty applies to Tavares's signing bonus in the first place, since he's a Canadian citizen being paid by a Canadian entity to come and work in Canada. That question would still matter for some hockey players, but it would only be Canadians on Canadian teams who signed contracts with performance bonuses either as a sign and trade from an American team or after leaving an American team and going to free agency. I think that's just Bertuzzi, Klingberg, Huberdeau, and Kadri.

    As for the CRA making athletes worry that they're going to be audited, that could be a real problem. Nobody wants to get caught up in legal proceedings, especially not ones that could cost millions.

    Haven't seen much of Zegras, but not impressed with what I have seen. Not surprised Ducks are looking to move him. He's not playing up to the 5.5M /yr deal. Maybe a change of scenery would help. Still don't think Tanev winds up in Toronto. Tavares tax battle could boil down to residency. Did CRA deem him to be a resident of Canada for 2018? Anyone over 183 days in a calendar year is considered a resident. The # of days do not have to be in a row, it's a cumulative total. It often gets way more complicated than that, but this could be a very important case. Players on Canadian teams already deal with a higher tax rate disadvantage as it is.

    To the leafs….Tanev and Mangiapane..to the flames….Lillejgren, Nick Abrezzeze and this years 1st rd pick, but only if the flames retain salary.

    I’ve never heard anyone say they like Zegras. I’ve only seen him play a few games so I could be judging him too hard. He seemed better suited at wing and I didn’t get the impression that he’s the type of player who’d have another level in the playoffs. Seemed a bit immature. Laughed a lot. Tried to get under the skin of the other teams but wasn’t working.

    Am I missing something? Was he awesome last year?

    I feel bad for pat maroon. Homie gets traded every single time his team wants to make a run. Lucky for him he seems to be able to get traded to teams who then win cups lol
