The renovation basically made it an entirely new building. They essentially treated that roof like a big tarp/tent and dug way down to make the whole place bigger and have streamlined cargo bays for event logistics to unload and load much more efficiently. Before there was one tunnel that a single semi had to back down to get unloaded one at a time. 🥵 Now, there’s 6!!
I used to watch games pretty much all the time, but ive probably only watched about 10 games in the last few years (excluding playoffs). The main reason is that it seems my favourite teams like playing while im working. Now another thing is that i am quite the Habs enjoyer, however im in western Canada. Now i also enjoy the Knights and Kraken, but unless the Habs play other western teams, i cant really watch them. I mainly use Sportsnet and they have had more games from farther teams recently, but its usually the popular ones (Boston, Toronto, Tampa) and those are the average Habs fans least favourite teams.
The ads are quite annoying and weirdly kinda glitchy. I just watched the Vegas Edmonton game, and every commercial break starts with a half second of some ad, then a full 1 minute popeyes ad. And even after that, sometimes it goes to a blue screen with the SN logo saying "commercial break in progress." So what was the point of that. Of course the bet ads are annoying, but sometimes i like to watch them in the pov of their target audience (old people) and be like "oh thats that famous sport guy, i must now waste my retirement money because that connor mcdonalds guy said so" because i can. And the digital boards are still a dumb idea to me. Because apparently to the NHL, one big ad gets more money than multiple small ads. And they still bug out sometimes.
The banning of lgbt stuff also makes no sense whatsoever. Have you seen literally every single company in June.
The Seattle Kraken are not the first team in the Pacific Northwest, that would be the Seattle Metropolitans. They were the first American team to win the Stanley Cup in 1917.

Fun fact: the Seattle Metropolitans were the first American team to win the Stanley cup in 1917.
You beat me too it..😂
Was there a few weeks ago. Stadium inside really was in good shape. The seating views were great.
Did seem weird that Phoenix had a team and Seattle didn’t.

It's really a new area. They put up support for the roof and demolished everything underneath. They then rebuilt the area.
