[Brooks] Dolan rumor has no validity

  1. this is one of those rare instances where I believe Brooks. He still has decent vision into the org. When he reports on something like this, says it definitively, I tend to believe it.

That being said, please Drury, do not spend it on a rental. None of the rentals are worth a 1st. Make a hockey trade and use it there. Bring someone in who’s going to be here beyond June.

Sorry, but not buying it. This is an owner that will fire an employee with 40yr employment because he hasn’t been fired yet. I can definitely seeing him want to hold the 1st so he looks good and then not admit it.

This is big brain by Drury to drive up the value of his own first round pick.

Team: we want a first an prospect for <person>

Drury: didn’t you see the papers? Dolan won’t let me spend a first

    Team: well we want it

Drury: ok…. Well I’ll have to get my crazy boss to approve it but retain 50% and we’ll talk

Dolan on the phone while this is happening: snickering

While I don’t doubt that Dolan could be capable of something stupid like this, the fact that it leaked now seems weird. Like unless Dolan wanted it to be public he basically only needs to have this conversation with Drury to have it done. So if it leaks he knows exactly where it’s coming from and drurys job is on the line. It seems more like something that comes out after Drury gets fired.

  5. there are *zero* rental players worth trading a 1st rounder for anyway

Dolan can fuck right off. He doesn’t make decisions for this team.

Even if Drury believes this isn’t the year to go all in, he is absolutely expected to upgrade RW1, at the very least. And if they don’t, the fanbase should be outraged.

I love vesey and the role he plays on our team. He might not have lived up to the baker winner but he’s embraced his role and I find little critique about his play

This is something that may have been true until it came out, now that it did the backlash isn’t worth it and they’ll just move forward with normal plans.
