Hopefully trade out assets. If this old geezer trades another first rounder, im done. Fire this man already
'hey now your an all star. get your game on go play'… oh fk it who gives a fk. This season is going nowhere. Time for louzer to get out the 'SALE-ALL GARBAGE MUST GO. WILL TAKE BEST OFFER' sign out with tdl season open. Louzer-talk to chevy in winnipeg. Word is contending jets are looking for a center. With casucks making move in west arms race maybe chevy would be interested in jpg. Maybe louzer can beg for a first/prospect for a worn down 44. And ship out an overpaid broken down d man like 3 to someone like laffs desperate for d with salary coming back. Maybe get that laff first before its gone or pierre third back. FKN louzer. This dude would pi-ss in his own cheerios then blame someone else for doing it. Sorry st. roy. Its wait till next season. Gotta really hope for big drop-off by tdl to protect that first. So louzer wont be tempted to deal it for fifth straight year.
NO WAY a first for a 44, not even close!
I am pretty confident that Lou will do something to improve the roster. The only thing that could be against that, is Lou thinking Roy could get more out of them, and this was his solution to it. Great podcast like always, Gil.
Ive been trying to figure out why Roy signed here.
This team is clearly going in the wrong direction.
He sees how old the demographic is.
He sees the cupboards are bare.
Why would he sign here when he could have called his own ticket to any other team trending upward.
Could it be that he was swayed by the possibility of the GM's chair in the not to distant future? Because that is the only thing that makes sense to me.
Ive heard pple say over and over that he is "so good with the kids"…..and then he signs here? at the Belmont retirement home??
Comon, something smells fishy
The all star game. zzzzzzzzzzz…. I'd rather watch my dog cough up a hairball then watch that worthless suckfest. Bettman think it soooo COOL as it is farcical. Just listen to the announcers ham it up for whatever fkn network is doing it. They'll make the fkng thing sound like greatest most exciting game they have ever witnessed. HAHAHA to them. About as exciting as watching nfl players run thru cones and pull flags off of each other football all weekend. BARF!!!
Aho is the only D that can actually clear the zone.
Why don't we (the fans) put the pressure on Lou instead of him letting do his way? As for cap space, why not take money out; it's called loans. Also I want a sniper. I'm expecting a win now season.
I think Lamoriello should make some serious moves before the trade deadlines. When Matthew Barzal had a big night on The Night Before Christmas 🤶 Eve in 2017, like Trots did in 1978, it was like he saw himself in this young man.
Lou acts like a man who likes the roster and roster construction and the person responsible for putting this team
At the same time he acts like a man who is genuinely confused by the issues this team has had for the last three seasons
A GM who wants to make a change and who doesn't want to make a change
A GM who doesn't want to cut the strings on some players
Good morning team. Gil, thank you again for such an excellent and informative episode. I have to say, I don't agree with a lot of the moves Lou has made for the team in recent history, except for getting Horvat. I have believe, deep down, that he wants to do what is best for the team. We have to be honest with ourselves here. Would we rather draft a 1st round, 2nd round pick that doesn't play in the NHL for a couple of years? OR.. Do we want to bring in an NHL player to try to help the team? My vote is getting an established NHLer that could help the team now. Of course, this is only my opinion, but I'm sticking with it. What does everyone else think on the subject? Everyone have a great day and weekend. Looking forward to 1- speaking with everyone Monday, AND 2- beating Toronto and finally getting a much needed 2 points. Until then.. LET'S GO ISLANDERS!!
Doesn't matter what Lou does at this point — too many holes, not enough speed, and a salary cap allocation that's 15-20 years off current market dynamics. Think current NE Patriots, but without the ability to change things quickly. Lou needs to retire.
He is most likely trading one of his first-round draft choices for a player to whom he'll give a seven-year contract.
