Man o man the final stretch to the playoffs will be so fun to watch , with so many teams looking for a d guy we’ll see which team pony’s up the pick/players and pick or picks . Cheers
I literally joked at the beginning of the season after our first couple injuries that I bet we do not ever have a full team all year and damned if it isn't true.
Well it definitely opens the door for a trade or a signing (Jets are parting ways with #33, just a thought). He would add some grit on that soft defence. I hope this season isn't a wash. I like Tavares and I think he is a great player but as I have been saying all along throughout the rebuild, that his contract really tied the Leaf's hands in term and dollars as there is no wiggle room due the cap for many more years. We knew Nylander, Marner and Matthews would eventually add up to $30 million when they resigned with the team! Anyone who says otherwise ain't living in reality. At any rate nothing is impossible but the deck is stacked against the Leafs with $40 million being spent on 4 forwards. If this team wants to win a cup they need defense and that's the bottom line!!! Having said that in my view players like Nylander, Marner and Matthews gives this team offensive possibilities that haven't seen since the Sundin, Mogilny, Roberts or Gilmour, Andreychuck, Borschevsky or Sitter, McDonald and Thompson days! Lol
No big deal, all part of the game, was not having a great year…get well Andreas…but look at Pittsburgh, Columbus…they just keep winning with depth…move on, get better…Dubas is making smart moves…like what Keefe is doing, not playing goat much as well, a smart move…he has had 5 years and brings nothing to the table, babs liked him, not sure why, does nothing…trade him to montreal to ottawa, both gms are clueless…as for Johnsson? Engvall will step up…big, fast, skilled…all good moving forward…eye on the prize…and play Campbell more please to get into the playoffs…he is a number one goalie…has looked great…will take over from 5 hole Freddy soon…he should have stopped one last night…needed that point…we need the points, go Campbell…off to the playoffs again…go leafs go
At this point we are battling time. There are good core players but a GM has to be active make a MAJOR move to help out this season and especially next season. 2 bright spots this season are Mikheyev and Engvall!
Damn Leafs n Raptors can't stay healthy for at least a month..so I'm guessing the Leafs may make some moves when the trade deadline comes
