Rielly was behind the other team’s net when this play developed, was the first one to get back and anywhere close to Greig, and was the only core guy willing to do anything about it. This team does not deserve Morgan Rielly.

is this even a question? Rielly endured some awful Leafs teams, took pretty fair contracts (if not underpays) his entire career
meanwhile guys like Marner and Nylander rather play in Europe than play for the Leafs at market value

The core guys will never do anything. Even in this tense, serious moments, Matthews still starts laughing when Tarasenko (of all people) showed the slightest bit of aggression towards him.

I also had the same thoughts….. this team does not deserve Morgan Reilly. Also does not deserve Michael Bunting and Ryan OReilly and Noel Acciari and Sam Lafferty and Luke Schenn and Zach Hyman and Simon Benoit……… guys willing to put it all on the line for the team.
The Leafs deserve selfish players who think about their stats and bottom line first. They put up a flag about 6 years ago that they are the team to get raped by their star players and they will underpay those that are less than Elite.

sorry how many times has a guy taken a clapper on a break away or shoot out? how many times was there a fight afterwards? I used to dumb shit all the time when my teammates whined or played like crap. This was dumb, but id rather trade 3 or 4 of the other guys then trade kadri
Just give him the C at this point. My favourite leaf of this era by far. Loyal, no contract drama, didn’t drain the team for more money. One of the few players on this team with a pulse.
