  1. Toronto has become a place where players come to make money and not Cups and not playoff motivated! This coach has to go, and this team needs a new captain someone with more heart and a voice, not a robot who is being overpaid to sleep in leaf pajamas and bedding! This team needs a good kick in the arse and needs to grow up and become men, not boys!

  2. Its mind boggling that one of the biggest Hockey cities in the world with a storied franchise pre 1967, and unlimited resources, can't bring in a proper management team that knows how to build a winner. From top down the organization is a joke.. Shanahan has been her for 10 years, won 1 Playoff Round and was ready to resign a GM that has won 1 round in 7 years while emptying the cup board of draft picks and handcuffing them with the Salary cap. Look what the Owners of Vegas were able to do. Vegas is not a hotbed of hockey.. And people talk about them for 5 mins before moving on.. But Toronto is a laughing stock of the NHL.. LOL Like Ballard said, why build a winner, the arena will sellout anyways. So sad.

  3. Another Great Report from ZP & Third Man In – You are the Young Don Cherry – Keep Calling it as you Seez it! Close the Barn Door after the Horses have Bolted. & Trying the Same Thing & Hoping for Different Results = Definition of Insanity.

  4. Marner wont like that, He got Babs fired, why not Keefe? Even if they bring in a HOF coach, they will not listen to him, they got paid and got coddled.

  5. My thoughts on this are….Two fold….. The first thing that comes to mind is exactly what you said Zack. I think that is is too little too late personally. If he had this edge the entire time as the coach I think this team might actually have some grit. Due to his laid back and "take away positive" attitude I think it comes through loud and clear to the players. We can play like crap and the coach really won't do or say much. I think his job is on the line at this point. Now that he is under the sword he is trying basically anything to keep his job….. That being said, I do think there is something to be positive about in this situation. I think that even if it is a bit late in his career with Toronto as the head coach, I still believe he can turn up the heat on the players at any point as long as he keeps it consistent. Especially now when it's after the all-star break. I don't see this team going far, but maybe if Keefe cooks the stars a bit they will finish strong.

  6. Calling out players or the whole team to the media is only going to hurt overall team dynamics and mindset, you need to have cohesiveness within the team, publicly calling out players in front of the media is lame. Period.

  7. Let us see if the Leafs play well enough to hold their Wildcard spot & have Matthews score 70.😀The Leafs have declined and are just an average team now. They got their Divisional Title – but never were structured to win in the playoffs. Last summer they tried to get bye – with a $2.5 Million goalie & somehow can pay four $11Million forwards. Why-they playoff disappoint?😀

  8. Too little too late Keefe. Fire Keefe bring team a REAL TOUGH coach and watch them turn into Chanpions or trade off the bums IF the keep losing. Period

  9. These guys need to put down the iPads and get into the game. You watch the game from the bench as you play to stay on top of things. All this ignoring the play to replay the last series on the tablet keeps guys from being present in the now.

  10. The bottom 6 in last night's game have 22 goals in 194 man games. A goal every 8.8 games for six guys doesn't cut it. Knies and Bert in the top 6, 94 games 14 goals. Rielly is 7th in scoring for d-men, next is McCabe at 63rd the rest are 115th or worst and Benoit doesn't even rank in the top 200. It's not the top 5 aren't performing the rest of the team isn't doing much of anything. They have no physical play, they don't stickup for the big 5 except McCabe, Benoit and Gio the oldest guy in the league. Their not a team and never have been, great teams stick together leafs are the exact opposite. Last night Benoit hits Barzal instant fight. Mayfield crushes Matthews leafs do nothing. Reaves is a joke, he should have made Mayfield fight him next shift no matter what.

  11. Missing the playoffs is best thing to happen to the leafs , and I’m a lifelong leafs fan, too soft time for a change

  12. If I were Leafs’ management, I’d be selling at deadline. Sammy, Bertuzzi, Domi, Brodie, all out the door for pics. This year is not the year. Also, it’s past due time to draft big mobile D. Re-up Benoit. Move Knies to the 3rd line bump Domi up to the 1st to up his stock. Hope Nylander, Matthews and Marner like the rebuild. Enjoy the shinny boys

  13. I think they missed their window for the optimal time to bring in a new coach for this season, but that being said, it's better late than never. Keefe is way past his best before date. He lost the dressing room way back when he called out one of the core 4, then back peddled the next day to the media. The fact that lost the dressing room is indisputable, and he can call players out and yell all he wants, but now he doesn't have the player's respect. They need a proven postseason winner and hardnosed coach, who is going to clean this mess right from the get go.

  14. It’s not being soft as it is style. They need to be willing to take a hit and switch back and forth from possession style to dump and chase on the fly.

  15. Make a paper Stanley Cup….parade it around Toronto.
This fanbase will 100% convince themselves its real.
The most uneducated hockey fanbase and it's not even close.

  16. Our team is suffering from the classic effects of having spent all your money on 4 players, which is that, those 4 players need to provide the bulk of the offence, and if for whatever reason they don’t…YOU’RE F#CKED!!’

I’ve been on the ‘fire Keefe’ train since last year. Nothing personal towards him, but for various reasons it appears to be the right move. Only thing is who do they replace him with?

He gets out coached by the opposition too often. He micromanages too much, messes with the lines, instead of trusting the players figure it out.

  17. It is Keefe's fault that the Leafs are a very inconsistent team! He is too soft and should bench the superstars when they are not playing to their potential. I think it is time for a coaching change? The Leafs need a F—ing hard – nosed coach that treats every player equally and doesn't take crap from the players. The team also needs to upgrade their defense and add another gritty forward! Good luck Tre, with the small amount of money you have, due too signing 4 players to half your teams salary cap! Obviously, management has a difficult time managing players and APPROPRIATE salary's. The teams success should be top priority over lining individual players with bundles of cash and leaving nothing for the rest of the team!

  18. I'm GLAD he has the sack to call these players out. Dubas NEVER let him….Tree does. Keefe is NOT the problem.

  19. Keefe is the Pee Wee coach. He calks out his own BS coaching. Watch how badly the leafs are coached with their defense deep in their zone making Hail Mary passes to fowards 3 of them on the far dide of center! That led to 2 Ottawa goals. Ni accountability is the coach. 10 bench minors as proof. Screw blaming the players stupid
