Let’s go over a few more NHL rookies this season that have showcased very well thus far, and could potentially be challengers for the 2021 Calder Memorial Trophy; awarded to the league’s top rookie.

Nils Hoglander of the Vancouver Canucks, Kirill Kaprizov of the Minnesota Wild, Josh Norris of the Ottawa Senators—we’ve spoken about these names before. This time however, we’re putting a primary focus on New Jersey Devils defenceman Ty Smith, Ottawa Senators phenom Tim Stutzle, and Chicago Blackhawks forward Pius Suter.

  1. I'm pretty new to hockey and the nhl but watching your videos over the better part of a year has really helped me understand things in more detail and be able to form my own opinions as well as stay up to date. So thank you for all the work you put into this!

  2. LEGO you born in 99 or 00? just wondering, I’m the same age as Kole Lind also good video! I like watching the rookies are playing in Chicago.

  3. Exciting future for the devils. I can’t wait for a few years to go by. Exciting time to be a devils fan. So many of our young guys look promising. Even wood has made a huge jump and has been in fire

  4. Evan Bouchard is gonna blow everyone away and finish top 3, he's already point a game this season as a defenseman

  5. Pius Suter has had a rough last few games, he went from 1st line center to 4th line wing with most of his icetime cut. Hes still on the second PP unit but he isn’t getting much 5 on 5 icetime and the defensive play has been very rough. He’s definitely on the down turn. The top rookies rn for the hawks are Lankinen whose been great in net and Kurashev because he actually stole Suters job as Patrick Kane’s center

  6. Even if Ty Smith got 60 points they won't give it to him he's not popular enough. You know damn well the league wants Kirill or Stutzle 😂

  7. Imagine Hoggy gets all angry after seeing his team perform badly and gives a Pettersonian performance and gets nominated for Calder.

  8. Vancouver could get a top 10 pick if they keep playing that why lol They can add to there deep prospect pool.

  9. I think Stutzle is BY FAR the best player and has beat upside of any of these but….I don’t think he will win the Calder do to him being 18-19 and that Ottawa in general is Uber trash and has zero cohesion or coaching. Stutzle plays with trash line mates and barely sees PP time besides last night

  10. IMO, Lankinen has been the 2nd/3rd best rookie this year so far.. somehow the Hawks arent last and he has been the biggest reason why. 4-1-3 on a terrible team and a .928 save percentage. Dare I say dark horse candidate

  11. Does the Calder trophy not apply to rookie goalies too? I see so many places counting Kevin Lankinen out, but he should be near the top of the list
