Former senior consultant to the NHL Players’ Association Richard Rodier tweeted a thread of thoughts on Saturday, suggesting how NHL commissioner Gary Bettman might be managing the ongoing Coyotes’ arena drama and the possibilities for the team’s future.

If you're gonna have obstructed seats, you might as well have them play in Phoenix.
The Coyotes are staying right here in Arizona. No one can shake me from that belief. Let's go, Yotes!
The two spin doctors are at it again… Friedman has stated that the NHL will come back to Arizona, so why would Ishbia, who spent $4B on the Suns barely over a year ago, buy possibly the least successful franchise in North America sports, when he could wait five years and get a clean slate and clean books. No way the expansion fee wouldn’t be worth it. This is of course assuming Ishbia is even interested which the more RECENT reports say he’s not
Its rough watching Coyotes supporters hold onto hope. It is looking like time is up. I am sad for them, I could not imagine how shitty it is to lose a team you love, but I think they are out of options. Utah is an obvious move here. I do believe Hockey can work in Arizona, but it needs to have much better ownership and an arena.
Sell this team to Quebec , and tell them they have to stay in the west until expansion , you can then bring in two west teams ,and movie Quebec back to Eastern .
So where do they play for 2-3 years while an arena is being built? Can’t be the Mullett arena. Have read footprint arena has no interest and why would Glendale want them back?
Personal I want them to stay but I'm sick of the ups and downs
Pretty sure the Yotes are out of options….onward to Houston.
Craig is sounding like a bitter dude going through a divorce. If it wasn't for the "trolls" from other cities rooting for the Coyotes to move you'd get like 3-4 clicks.
Nobody is saying the Delta center is a good permanent home. The whole point is that Utah is ready to build a new arena. Arizona isn’t. You’re not comparing apples to apples.
The timeline for an arena in Utah isn’t 2034 😂😂😂😂. What are these guys even talking about?
I’ll feel bad for coyotes fans when they lose their team, but these takes are asinine
When is the team going to figure out a permanent solution to actually fix these issues?
>Its always men
I don't know Craig
You haven't met my sister who is a red wings fan.
Pick any team across pro sports, any league. Outside of maybe the Oakland A's, there's no other team on this planet that's just a perpetual mess with no hope quite like the Coyotes.
NEW OWNERS, BACK TO GLENDALE and LET'S DROP THE PUCK! Personally I'd like to see Ishiba OR ANYONE ELSE! Fans have had ENOUGH of Meruelo! I hope they stay.
May I ask a couple of questions here: How much smoke, mirrors and lies from this owner are you willing to go through? IF the team were to be sold, IS Glendale an option?
I just hope the coyotes relocate out of Arizona so these guys can stop coming up with desperation based statements.
Utah isn't trying to built an NHL arena in time for the 2034 Olympics.
They want one built now, and have land and resources to do it.
If Salt Lake were granted an expansion or relocated team today the arena would be ready in time for the 26-27 season.
I'd rather wait longer for an expansion team though. The Coyotes are a dumpster fire thanks to their management, and need new ownership. There's a reason Glendale didn't want them.
Good luck.
The more this drags on, the more likely the whole organization will implode. Not too sure about SLC and their current arena but they also have the Jazz to squeeze schedules in.
Delta Center is for the UT Jazz. not a permeant home for any NHL team. They have used it for exhibition games. And the Delta Center would be use as a stop gap to get an NHL team into the SL Valley as soon as next season. long term Utah wants to build a dedicated NHL arena not only for NHL but also for the gold medal games for the 2034 winter Olympics. SLC has loads of incentives to get a dedicated facility built. Delta Center is also not a college arena. Delta Center seats 20,000. and Mullett Arena seats 5,000.
