The Pittsburgh Penguins got a much-needed victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday night and Hunter and Pat start the show by glossing over Sidney Crosby after he put the team on his back once again. And outside a miracle, doesn't Jake's injury basically prevent them from trading him?
Good coverage on Jagr. One other note on Jagr (because I'm a little … or maybe a lot … older LOL) in the 1992 playoffs when Mario had his hand broken in game 2 by Adam Graves of the Rangers… Jagr scored the GWG in both game 5 (at MSG) and game 6 (the series clincher) and then again the GWG in OT of game 1 vs Boston in the next round (ECF). Mario would return in game 2 vs Boston. But both Jagr and Francis came up large while the big guy was out during that Cup run.
Also, his first ever career playoff goal was a critical OT goal at home vs the Devils in game 2 of the 1991 playoffs … and it was a beauty of an individual effort. If the Pens fall down 2 games to 0 at home in that series, there is very likely one less banner in the rafters.
You could clown if you want but that game vs Blackhawks had me nervous cause could of went the other way but now they win like they need to start getting winning momentum and start scores 4puls goals game it’s time
I think the whole city will be upset if Mario's not on the ice for this. He has to know that.
Sid better shot to get to 50 goals now with Jake out as he'll have more of a shoot first mentality. Rakers looked great. Second excellent game in a row.
I've been downright abusive towards DOC but consecutive nights he's made brilliant plays which led to scores. I'd be ecstatic to be wrong about DOC.
Smith looking more engaged every game. Would like to see Pusti back on that 2nd line.
With Jake out I want to see Geno on the PP with Letang (someone who can actually feed him a proper one timer)….those blasts can create a lot of rebounds.
JP has looked good but really need some scoring from him.
The best news imo is in the last week Smith & Rakers have a pulse.

A win is a win and I get that, but truthfully I didn't really take anything positive from that Blackhawks game. The Blackhawks are a very bad team, and the only reason the Penguins beat them is because Crosby took control of the game, as he so often has to. My point is I don't think that game should dictate Dubas' plan, whatever his plan is. Anyway yeah I'm excited for Jagr weekend, this recognition is long overdue.
