I’m more annoyed after this shit than I was after the Florida game tbh. Our best player can’t be Mitchell Chaffee if we want to win games. Embarrassing effort out there

  2. HannTwistzz

B2B pathetic losses, Kucherov 1 point in 2 games. Fucking hell what a shitty 2 game stretch. Thursday is a must win now

  3. Basil_Normal

If we miss the playoffs remember this one.

Flat out embarrassing effort on home ice. Outworked, passing up wide open shots, horrendous goaltending. Pathetic

  4. Personinu

Joseph, I hope you trip, fall face first, and break all your teeth ❤️

  5. We get it Joseph, you don’t like us sending you to hockey hell in Ottawa but that doesn’t mean you have to take it out on us like that!

  6. Gatorlater7

Joseph always scores a goal or two against us WTF

  7. skinnydill

Ngl kinda wish we lost to Boston and Colorado instead of Florida and Ottawa…wait…hell no. FUCK BOSTON!

  8. itsyaboikawaiidesu

This team is allergic to winning must-win games. Hopefully we get a bounce back vs the Capitals because it hurts watching us lose grip of the game so easily these past two losses.

  9. mrjjk2010

“We’re gonna respond” *proceeds to lose in humiliating fashion*

  10. BigBuddha15

What a trip beating two good teams to these last 2 games

Edit: also might be time to bring the kids from before the break back up

  11. Hard to win games when you don’t get any big saves from your goaltender, but the defense in front of him is so bad that the responsibility is still shared.

I also need to see Cooper grow some balls and scratch Sheary, this shit is just beyond ridiculous at this point. Chaffee now has more goals in 10 gp than Sheary has in almost 40 averaging half the ice time. This is also not even mentioning the fact that Sheary doesn’t throw hits, doesn’t backcheck, and continually has gamechanging errors like his two fanned open shots and going offside to prevent an odd man rush in the crucial small minutes of a game where we are down 2. Why are we letting Merala rot in Syracuse over this bum? Wasted season.

Only players I will give any kind of credit to this season are Hagel and Kuch. The rest are not playing up to their contracts and in many cases they’re not even close (Cirelli looks like a 4 million dollar player, Vasy 5, Cernak 3, Stamkos 5.5 and on and on and on). Some of the more depth guys like Glendening or motte get a break and are good enough but the rest aren’t.

If we make a single move other than sell this deadline I’ll be immensely disappointed. This team this year is nowhere near good enough especially when down Sergachev. There’s pieces here and some kids coming hopefully like Howard or duke that could provide a jolt. Try and nail the retool and we have 5 competitive years left. Waste assets and chase former glory and overpay people for what they did at one time and we’re fucked in mediocrity

  13. Usually when we have games where get completely hammered one night and lose to a bottom 10 team next game, we could chalk it up to Road game woes…

  14. CruelRuin

this team is gonna look so good next year when they have like 2-3 of these syracuse guys playing and stamkos at 5.25 instead of 8.5

  15. Then_Ship1329

We had our best and only extended winning streak with personnel that are losing their minutes to Sheary, ABB, Watson, deHaan.

I really thought they’d get the guys back up after the break.

Continuing to ice Sheary et al is wholly unserious.

There is no good goaltending without good defense.

Coop and JBB get a grip. Seriously insane to leave them in Syracuse if you want to make the playoffs. Disappointing af.

  16. nautica5400

This team gets into any type of playoff position and they decide to take a nap

  17. Chaffee, Lilleberg, and Eyssimont were probably the best players tonight. Kucherov was bad but this is the first bad game I’ve seen from him this season, so whatever. Sheary was Sheary and that’s expected at this point. But Stamkos, Hedman, and Vasilevskiy were just absolutely *inexcusably* bad and made the game hard to watch every time they stepped onto the ice. That was a well-deserved loss and we’ve now thrown away all of the breathing room we’d built up in the playoff race. Which is survivable, because the next four are against WSH, NYI, NJD, and PHI, so we can hand them *all* losses, but every single one of those becomes close to a must-win.

  18. WhereIEndandYoubegin

Did I hear right that Kucherov didn’t have a single shot on goal in his 700th game?

  19. BanditPixy

Fucking pathetic team. They don’t deserve to be in the playoffs

The One Where Mathieu Joseph Actually Scored A Breakaway

  21. honkie-mcgee

I want to see all of those new jerseys burned. In a large pile, in front of the statue of Phil Esposito. I never liked these new jerseys, anyway.

  22. Three_Froggy_Problem

What’s the problem? Is it effort? Is it our systems? Skill? Coaching? I just am baffled. There’s plenty of dead weight on this team but the talent we still have should be able to balance that out more. It feels like everyone is having a down year except Kuch and Hagel, and even Kuch has been off the last few games.

  23. Skroskznik_

This game I feel they got way way way too cocky coming into this match. Yeah we can shake off a 9-2 loss from the best Eastern team but the fact we got out classed by the worst team in our Atlantic division feels worse. They need to stop being sorry passers and bad defensively, period. We need to make moves before the deadline now.

  24. Negative-Wrap95

Ah, well I guess I don’t have to watch the recording or a replay now.

  25. Gatorlater7

I’m trying to find a positive and I cannot. Our bottom 2 lines aren’t very good (not that the top 2 have been great either the last 2 games).

  26. No-Willingness-5403

Were players sick tonight? Hagel and Kuch looked so unenthused.

  27. AdvenJackUSA

The Senators are in TWENTY EIGHTH place in the league standings.
The league average for SOG per team, per game, is just about **31.3**
Oddly The Senators outshoot the league average, making 32.82 SOG per game.
They suppress SOG against them better than the league average as well, allowing on average 30.29 SOG per game.
The Lightning average MAKING **29.92** SOG per game, and allowing **29.88**
Tonight, against this *”weak”* team, we held them down to a total of **27** SOG – Hooray!!!
The bad news is, against this bottom bracket team, we only delivered a meager **26** SOG to their goalie, Forsberg.
Now Forsberg is a guy who averages allowing **3.32** goals per game, and has a save average of **.892 -** which is microscopically worse than Vasilevskiy’s **.899,** and microscopically better than Johansson’s **.886**
    Vasy’s career S/A is **.918.**
A quick reference to put that in perspective is, a S/A of **.916666** means **11** saves per **12** SOG faced.
We are **NOT** getting anything like that from A.V. this season.
Two nights ago Lightning #88, for *that game* against The Panthers, generated a *catastrophic* S/A of **.739** after just 2 periods.
(Cooper, for period three, installed Johansson in Vasy’s place.)
Against The Senators tonight, we received from Vasy a S/A of **.852,** at the point that he was pulled to put an extra skater on, and by then **27** SOG had reached him.
He allowed The Senators **1st** goal in period **1,** at SOG number **7,** and their **2nd** goal rang in during period **1** as well, with **SOG # 8 !**
The **18th** SOG that Vasy faced went into the net for goal **3**, and more bad news, he surrendered the **4th** goal when SOG **22** got to him!
Like it or not, **9** saves per **11** SOG that reach our G.T. is **NOT** going to work.
Had Vasy been pulled at that point his S/A for tonight would have been a *Horrid* **.818 !!!!!!**
This season our two goalies have S/As in the high .**800s**
*Whatever else* is going on that is less than ideal, the odds of us making it to the finals for The Cup with our goalies numbers where they are, well I’m not seeing any reason for confidence.

  28. frankcastiglione

The fact this is the same team that beat Boston and Colorado recently is mind-boggling. It’s crazy how we can just switch off like this. These should have been two easy points to win at home. Blah.

  29. Procedure_Dunsel

The box score says it all. Turnovers and bad Defense. The Cap chickens have come home to roost. As much as it will hurt to have his cap hit in the Press Box, Sheary needs to ride pine for a few games and figure it out.

  30. Sheary is more miserable to watch than Kunitz. Screw these former Pens
