Series never should have happened, refs jobbed George Owen on a bullshit call in game 4 of the Bruins vs. Leafs semis, they may as well have just handed Busher Jackson that PP goal. It was all over after that, may as well have not even played Game 5. 10 PIMs all year and refs just decide to hand it out like candy in a pivotal game, typical bullshit from that crew.

I work in tv now and its so crazy to me to see old footage. I would have loved to see what the cameras looked like that they used

I always get a kick out of how they played back in the day. They always look so casual out there in this time period.

  5. Fun fact:

The centre red line was, and still is, dotted to differentiate from the blue lines on black and white TVs.

Honestly, this video shows why I only count players from like the late 50s/ early 60s and on. This footage looks like my group playing pickup hockey. Little equipment, goalie won’t drop down, similar skill level. If you dropped mcdavid in this league he’d have scored 500+ points per season barring a pick to the skull

  7. I donā€™t know what I expected from a jumbotron (can it even be called a jumbotron?) in the 1930s but for some reason it wasnā€™t that lol

Boy the picture of that clock hanging over centre ice takes me back. I remember going down to watch junior hockey at Maple Leaf Gardens when that clock was still being used. You spent more time trying to read that thing then you did actually watching the game. As I recall it was a full 60 minute clock.

Another thing that you might not pick up right away is that they didnā€™t have glass up and down the sideboards. So if you sat in the first row you would be ducking elbows and sticks just like the players.

Who is the timid poindexter they have interviewing guys in the lockerroom?
