  1. the fact that Buttman thinks that the empty net slapshot is Utterly irrelevant, to me shows just how UTTERLY out of touch he is with the actual game and how it's played.

  2. I agree on the Leafs overusing Morgan. He is an offensive d-man and the Leafs have a lot of offensive firepower up front so they should not have to lean on him and give him 25+ mins a game. I think they should dial his time back a bit to 20-22 minutes a game.

  3. Reilly deserves the suspension. It's the equivalent of an end zone dance. The other team doesn't pound the guy with a stick.

  4. What about the fact that the media knew about the details of the suspension, before the player or the team, isn't this NHL a professional organization???

If anything the Leafs should be suing the NHL for the release or breach of the contract, as well as Rielly suing for the lost wages, because of the unprofessionalism involved, with the media knowing the details before the team or the player having his say, in the suspension hearing!!!

If it was the other way around rest assured the NHL would be suing the Leafs and the player for leaking the information, that's like sharing personal information about his job and wages, which is also illegal???

  5. Greig broke the code by doing what he did. A strong response was needed, okay fine. The code dictates Rielly drops his stick and gloves and takes Grieg on that way, but no sucker punches. Even with that said, 5 games was too much when you look at other incidents. Difference might be that Rielly had ample time to decide what his response would be, and he still chose the wrong response.
