Rasmussen is a good contract. great on PK and a silent leader of the team. heavy hits and workhorse on forecheck
Any goalie that can stop the puck that does not give up fat rebounds would be gratefully appreciated here in Nj.

I hope the Ducks do not trade Zegras. He is young and still growing as a player and a person. I wouldn't be surprised if he does live up to his potential of 80 to 90 points per season. Why trade for something you already have?

I've watched hockey my whole life (30 years) but im telling ya now, im so very close to being done watching the NHL. Player safety is a joke and Garry Bettman is a GOOF. How many cross checks to the head/face area that were just as bad or a lot worse? 500k fines maybe 1 or 2 games. Reilly was drafted in 2012 and has what, like less than 300 penalty minutes..one of the cleanest, most honest players in the entire league. Dude didn't even have a 2 minute minor until a few weeks ago. If this shit happened with Bettmans lovechild, the minor hockey team they call the coyotes, out in Arizona, the media wouldnt even care and the consequences would be very minimal. Ya i realize Mo shouldnt have cross checked him in the head, but if anyone says that slap shot didnt deserve some sort of retaliation, you dont know hockey and probably cant even stand up on skates period. I guess Mo should have dropped the gloves and beat the ever loving piss outta the punk..they woulda still suspended him though. Poor little George Parros is just salty, because he was a terrible hockey player and got knocked the F out by Colton Orr. Not to mention leaking the suspension to kevin Weekes before the team and player even know about it. They need to fire his bummy cry baby ass right now. Watch another incident like this happen in a months time and nothing happen..bloody pathetic. So inconsistent.
A very sensible and well-timed decision by GM Steve Yzerman, in Detroit, regarding the re-signing of Michael Rasmussen, at this point in a very positive season for the Red Wings🎯.
I think that MR suffered a little during the Blashill years, laboring under the weight of both heavy fan expectation (related to his size, etc.) and the Red Wings' (then) lack of offensive creativity (and physicality) in attack. Since the welcome arrival of 'Newsy' as coach AND since the arrival of last offseason's player reinforcements (for which Steve Y. gets an 'A' grade🎉!), MR has really developed impressively well as a player and he is contributing really well, now, to the Wings' current renaissance.
Both the term and contract AAV in this case, do seem pretty reasonable to me, all things considered.

Zegras value isn't very high idk if i'd pay to much for him.
Habs are still lacking high end skill up front and with his buddy Caufield in Montreal I think it makes sense. Just depends if the price is right for Hughes.

The Capitals should trade Ryan Leonard to the Anaheim Ducks for Trevor Zegras. Zegras could pass to Ovi with Backstrom's career done. Ryan Leonard can be Pat Verbeeks "style" of a player.
I think Flames Fans are going to be very underwhelmed by the return for Hanafin. This is a very odd situation where it has been made public where he wants to go in free agency. It makes zero sense for Boston to go and trade for him now when they can sign him for nothing in the off-season and have him for the next 7 years. They will have the Cap for it as well with Forbort and another D coming off. As well as Debrusk etc. As well as the overages from last season. I think teams are really going to temper their offers knowing that they're going to only have him for a few months and he's 100% gone. Usually teams can have a few months to convince the guy to stay but in this one he obviously want to go to BOS. I wouldn't be surprised if they only got maybe a low 1st and a decent prospect.

this Zegres BS is this years PLD. why would the Habs want a player who is 1. injured 2. overpaid 3. undersized 4. notoriously poor work ethic 4. doesn't back check 5. avoids contact and rarely wins 50/50 puck battles, the list goes on of reasons not to bring Zegres to the Habs. Yes there is a potential upside, he is a skilled player BUT at what cost? There are much better options for Hughes and the Habs. Hopefully the media can figure that out and start to do some real digging to find some interesting potentials instead of just beating the Zegres drum just like they did with PLD last year
As a Red Wings fan im excited to see Rasmussen signed again and think its a fair contract. Other comparable players are making more such as Andrew Copp but Copp is extremely good on the faceoff.
I'm hearing from inside sources that Montreal is taking calls on Caufield.
