  1. Rantanen was a second line winger at the wjc on a line with Kapanen and Hintz or Kalapudas.

  2. Still the Finnish press is ranting about Laine, its all about Laine in here. Very rarely you see an article about Magic Mikko! Amazing to see that Rantanen is getting the recognition he deserves in the North America, even though the Finnish press is brainwashed about slow motion Laine.

  3. wow highest point total since the 04-05 lockout is joe thornton who had 125 points the year after. the year after that crosby had 120 points. since then noone has broken 115 points that would be amazing if rantanan can surpass 125 points.

  4. Not gonna happen, he will come back down to earth real soon, he's having a perfect-everything-goes-your way season. Just like Nikita Kucherov to this point last year he was also on pace for 130+ … Then reality kicked in, and Connor McDavid did what he always does and destroys the second half of the year(while almost all other players fall off) and wins the scoring title. Scary part is this year McDavid is on pace for 125 points and the 2nd half is yet to come;)

  5. When Rantanen was selected AHL rookie of the year i knew that he would be star player for the Avs but never thought that he would be this good.

  6. I have waited 3 months now that point production slows down, and it haven't. Cold fact is if even one of those three guys (29-92-96) get injured it will effect rest of the line big time. Would really be awesome if this line stays healthy whole season and keep putting points up same pace. By the end of season there is numbers what we haven't see in 25-30 years.

  7. Rantanen has always been good, after all he captained the 2016 Finnish U20 gold team in a phenomenal year in which the Finns won the U18, U20, and lost in the finals of the mens championship (Laine was on all 3 teams if Im not mistaken, as a 17-year-old, Rantanen played at U20 and mens at 19); he was a bit overshadowed by the likes of Laine, Puljujarvi, or Aho, but already then he was a workhorse playing in all situations; I drafted him in my keeper league and never looked back, but honestly nobody anticipated that kind of production, him an MacKinnon sometimes remind me of Kariya and Selanne

  8. he was first line center ๐Ÿ™ˆ fuck sakes dont throw in wrong facts. Laine Aho Pulju line was 2nd

  9. See a pattern here?…

NJ devils when first 7 games
    โ€DEVILS ARE FUTURE CUP CHAMPS!?โ€

Buffalo wins 10 in a row
    โ€SABRES ARE FUTURE CUP CHAMPS?!โ€

    Kovalchuk comes to the league
โ€THE KINGS ARE GOING TO BE THE TEAM TO FEAR!!!โ€

Rantanen has a decent early start
    โ€FUTURE HART TROPHY WINNER!?โ€

The lesson here is, donโ€™t believe the hype

  10. In his draft year I remember thinking he reminded me a bit of Mats Sundin….even though positions are different, but he was a big guy 6'3-6'4 ish with soft hands, great skating, strong on the puck, high hockey IQ….much like Sundin. I wanted him badly but we got Marner at 4 but still still wanted Rantanen somehow. Avs got him at #10 pick FOR A STEAL!!! I was glad because Avs are my 2nd team and MacKinnon is my #1 player and they found the winger for him!
