  1. I don’t like it. Better options to trade maybe not for the bang but….dammit this would suck

  2. Both of those proposed trades don’t have nearly enough return value.

  3. I’m torn on this one. On one hand, he can be a core player on this team for a long time. I can envision a time where he can return to his top six role instead of top line once the young guns emerge (Neighbours, Snuggeruud, Dvorsky).

On the other hand he’s gonna need a new contract soon and he’s gonna command around 7 mil AAV. For a player his age there is certainly risk. Also, a first round pick, roster player and prospect is a very enticing return.

Gun to my head I want Buch to be a part of this team’s future. I’m hopeful he can sign a team friendly extension and plays a depth role en route to the cup in 2026.

If we don’t get a defenseman back in return for Buch then it is a failure of a trade. I’m pretty happy with our forwards in the system but we need young defenseman bad

I think Toronto could also be a partner. We might be able to trade a D man too.

  6. surfleonardo

No to both. We are looking proven, somewhat young d-man with some high picks for next draft.

Price is probably too high for teams to pay.

Terrible trades. Not even realistic. Why would we trade for an offensive defenseman prospect?? These guys have never looked at the Blues’ depth chart.

Funny we’ve ended up in the same situation as the Rangers, deciding whether or not to trade Buch to make room for our prospects.

They definitely don’t regret it at all.

It’s not like we have anyone who needs to get paid, and it doesn’t fix our log jam of dogshit dmen. I say they extend him and hope he makes a good third liner in his mid thirties.

Those are horrible. I hope THW aren’t paying for quality like that.

Buch isn’t a rental. He’ll return a blue chip prospect and a 1st and probably another asset.

    These proposals are all poor.

  11. If these are the trades on the table, keep him. We’d be fucking ourselves for YEARS if this is the best we can do value wise, and the young guys are going to need veteran mentorship as they enter the league. I’d rather make a push to re-sign him to a decent contract than let him go for a bag of pucks.

Price should start at a first, a cheap roster player, and a blue-chip defensive prospect. Not a stagnant prospect who “needs a change of scenery”.

From the oilers the ideal return would be Broberg and a FRP. Id be happy with that return.

Would you guys take Ilya Mikayhev and a 2nd rounder for him ? Just wondering

  14. Any forward you get from EDM is an anomaly because when you have two of the top 5 players in the league it’s easy to spread scoring depth around. Look at Tyson Barrie a few seasons ago.

If Buchy is a trade piece we need D-men, young, old, I don’t care. That whole Blue line needs a revamp. At this point, CP55 and Perunovich should be kept.

  15. Limeincoconutyouhave

Why the hell would we trade him he’s producing well.

  16. Pinchypounder

If we can sign him for below 7 AAV for 6 years or less then do it. He’s one of the best two way wingers in the league. Also he’s only 28…. That’s 3 years older than kyrou. Who we really should be considering trading are Krug, Faulk, scandella, kapanen, schenn, Hayes, saad, or Leddy.
