There were sooo many haters. I hear crickets now.

As a keefe hater and still not fully sold on him I think he has been a lot better recently. Still unsure but a good sign.

If the team wasn’t buying in before, they are now.

I mean Keefe has done an excellent job winning regular season games but imho he’s still one more playoff collapse away from losing his job

  5. I mean, he’s on his last legs. Either go deep or it’s over for him.

A couple good weeks does not make up for 5 years of not holding EVERYBODY accountable. I will definitely change my mind if we go on an actual run however he’s 1 disappointing playoff run away from coaching the Halifax Highlanders

I’m not convinced Keefe played any part in this recent run, the team has been playing for Mo this stretch. I’m okay with him finishing the season, and getting a chance to progress deeper in playoffs, but if he can’t get us past round 2, I’m done with him.

I will gladly eat shit if he manages to lead the Leafs on a deep run. I still think he gets out coached in the playoffs, but if he actually has figured out what real adjustments are and isn’t throwing his lines in a blender when it’s not working, then I’ll back him too

Keefe literally only stumbled into this hot streak because he was forced to start relying on the guys he was playing for 10 minutes a night previously due to injuries and a suspension. For most of the year he has no idea how to deploy his roster.

Why does it seem like he blinks extra deep lol

The middle frame looks straight out of Blade: Trinity.

until he gets out coached in the playoffs, again.

How many “he gets outcoached in the playoffs” comments are we going to see that don’t give any specific examples?

he’s playing his bottom 6 like they’re actually part of the team lately. I like that.

We seem to be eating our words these days. The Tre signings are starting to show exactly why they were brought in. Klingberg was the only real blunder signing, but that COULD have been brilliant since he was a really good player a few seasons back.

The team kinda looks like a bunch of oddballs having a blast. Except Tavares. That guy is boring.

A good coach CAN make his team goto hell and back for the glory of ‘ the team ‘.

The Question IS – CAN Keefe get THIS core to sacrifice everything in the pursuit of a Stanley Cup ???

Ya cause regular season results are the same as playoff results.

They’re not firing him. They renewed him for two years.

The logic is straightforward. The first year is a “soft” year. Meaning how we do, is somewhat inconsequential because Treliving just stepped into his role. He’s inheriting a lot of issues.

So, to keep the team “competitive” and somewhat stable they renew Keefe. Then focus on the core four. Once the core 4 are resolved then they’ll likely not renew with Keefe because the core are now “locked in” for the foreseeable future.

It’s also why we have a bunch of short contracts. Same logic. Keep things stable until you renew the core and the Tavares contract is fixed and then make a big push with a new coach and larger cap.

only around because there’s no one else proven to hire
