Before someone makes any “whipping boy” comments, this isn’t about Mik solely costing us games—because he isn’t. This is about a guy who has evaded being scratched for a single game for way too long now and needs to sit.

Lack of forward depth is the real problem.

maybe it’s recency bias or whatever but it does feel like he’s played a LOT better at the start of the season. i’m ignoring all the goals but it seemed like he played a lot better without the puck, he was faster, more relentless on the forecheck too compared to now. i don’t understand why people excuse him and say it’s his acl recovery because if that was the case how come he played better at the beginning of the season?

0G 6A in 26gp since the new year. Some players hit slumps and they just need to play through it, but at this point Mikheyev getting a mental breather in the press box might do some good. The tools are there, it’s just not clicking. No shame in watching a game or two.

Mik really went from potential Petey linemate to press box in less than a year huh

He’s so frustrating to watch because it’s all between his ears

Tochh has a massive hard on for him Ilya though

Yes! they need to conserve their energy, the battle for that last playoff spot is going to be a tough one

There’s not a chance he’s healthy. He has no speed. His legs are probably cement blocks and he doesn’t want to aggravate his injury, so he doesn’t forecheck as hard as he could. Remember, he resisted getting surgery last year. No way he’s going to tell the staff he’s hurt now.
