[David Pagnotta] Edmonton’s looking to add both on D and up front, with Pavel Buchnevich among their targets. Money in means money out for the Oilers, with Cody Ceci, Warren Foegele & Brett Kulak the likely casualties.

Almost all contenders should be *looking* to add Buch. It’ll be interesting how these talks heat up. I don’t think the oilers have many assets that truly excite me too much though.

I don’t see Doug letting Buch go without a haul. We need defense bad and it’s not like we have to make a decision on him this season, right? He’s still got a contract till 2025.

I feel like it would be Broberg and a 1st for Buch. Broberg is a big, rangy defenseman who was a top 10 pick a few years ago, but hasn’t been able to break into a middling d group in Edmonton. Put it on Edmonton to make the salary work with a 3rd team or add something to take Poopoo Peepees contract.

Nope do not want unless we get an absolute haul

Broberg, a first, and a prospect. Even if the prospect just goes to Springfield to free up one of our other prospects

  6. Buch and Binner to Carolina for three first-round picks or two first-round picks and this year’s second-round pick. That is my hope, at least. We may never get a better offer than this for either of them.

Full disclosure: I am not sure if the money works. I just know that Carolina needs both players, and they are really pushing to win now.

Wild theory here. What if we do a package deal of Faulk and buchnevich? It would kill both Edmonton’s needs with one stone and get us out of Faulks contract. In that case we could take Ceci back which would fill Faulk’s hole for the retool on a cheaper cap hit and could be flipped for assets in the future. Now the cap situation would make it difficult though.
