They picked a really bad time to have an ugly loss
No excuses for tonight. That was the most pathetic game we could play in the most important game of the season so far. That’s a season altering, demoralizing shit show. Now we have a dog shit Ottawa team tomorrow and you definitely know we won’t respond even though we should. We don’t matchup well with them.
It’s obvious the lack of experience and depth is getting to us as a grueling season winds down. Tbh this game just shows we need to sell everyone we can for picks so we can get the right guys via the draft and then via trade. In a year or two.
On to the next one but this absolutely fucking sucks asshole.

Nothing to be upset about. This was always a rebuilding team that dramatically overperformed. We should be equally proud of how much the guys on the ice exceeded expectations and how much the front office knows that there’s a lot more work to be done to bring us back to glory.

I think torts benching Brink (and I think Olle) for the entire 3rd period was the wrong decision. Yea he made that horrible excuse for defense for the Caps 3rd goal, but if they’re trying to make the playoffs, why take off one of the few players actually providing offense? Not to mention shortening the bench on game 1 of a 3 game 4 day span could spell disaster for tomorrow and Monday.
I want to know if people agree.
All in all I think our worst performance of the season. Cardio and puck watching in the D zone and we couldn’t get the puck to the front of the net in the o-zone. Very little forecheck, lot of one-and-dones, flat out missing the net or shooting it into defenders’ legs. Don’t think it was particularly well-coached either.
Arguably our biggest game of the year and that’s what we come out with.

Everyone in the game thread is a fan I get that. But none of you have actually played hockey or watched hockey consistently enough to know how the game actually works. Honestly, at this rate I’d rather not make playoffs. This game really exposed us and the team is dwindling on the final stretch where we need to win most. We’re still rebuilding and will have a decent more draft picks/cap space and such to make an interesting off-season and a better team. It’s basically only going to get brighter
