Jeff Paterson on Alex Edler and other possible Canucks moves
Sekeres and Price Canucks Reporter Jeff Paterson joined the guys to talk about the news Alex Edler will test free agency and other possible Canucks moves.
I understand upper management prefers character guys that are responsible. But, that breeds Softness. Softness doesnt win you cups. You cant have a team full of Sedins, Peteys, OELs, character wise and think youre gonna make it past the 2nd round. We need some Savages. Jakes development is still mind boggling to me, you're a big body that can hit but, you dont do it? Look at our defense compared to the 4 big bodies on MTL.. If i were another team playing Van, its lightwork looking at that defense corp.
Canucks should go after Connor Clifton RHD; Boston will be exposing him in the Expansion draft… Good young stay at home D, who could be Hughes partner for the long term.

Edler was/is a rock back there. You know exactly what you get. We are going the way of the Oilers. Nothing solid in the back end. You can't lose veterans on the back end.
We are trying to shed salaries so wth would we inherit an old expensive OEL that’s a -17? Benning might as well extend Eriksson if that’s how he’s managing. 7 yrs of JB and he piles up mistakes not draft picks.
