  1. With some maneuvering at the deadline, after which the cap doesn't matter, the Canucks could use this Myers injury and possibly the Soucy injury to their advantage. The only problem is how much they want to give up in futures. They've already given up a 1st this season. Unless they want to give up a roster player, it could be tough. Mikheyev at his cap hit probably isn't exactly attracting any attention right now and isn't much of a bargaining chip. Guentzel is a talented player, but he's smaller and doesn't help them in the grit department. But at least they've eliminated the distraction of Pettersson's RFA/UFA status. He's staying, at a price comparable to Nylander, and Pettersson is clearly the better player of the 2. Good for Rutherford and Allvin to get this sorted out before the trade deadline. You don't get 100 point, 2 way players for nothing and it's clear the contract has been weighing on him. Now there are no excuses.

  2. $11.6… so clearly not just about the money. Thats a decent cap hit, but good that he didn’t hose them and left some room for other players.

  3. Gratulations Elias! you have made a great choice and the proud hockey capital of Vancouver very happy.
I hope you and your team will reap great rewards in years to come.
    Respect

  4. We all love and care that you have such love and care for our team and city.
Thank you Elias that you have found a place and purpose to stay and deliver your skills to and for our future as an elite hockey team.
    Now………
I can see no obstacle for the "cup" to arrive in glorious rainbow coloured package as per order.

  5. I’d say he could’ve gotten 12. so if he left 400k on the table and every top end player does that for the team that could let them have that extra depth near bottom of lineup that you need to compete in the playoffs. Good news that Myers is out, he’s not good.

  6. Congrats Eliot. You stoked Pettersson rumors and put it over the edge one week ago on HNIC. One week later- signed 🎉

  7. Hes worth at least 1.5 million more than Nylander so a great deal for van, while Nylander robbed the maple leafs 😂
